Very nicely made gun. Fit and finish are great. I shot 50 rounds fmj without any problems. I can only give it 4 out of 5 because of how little I've shot it and have not tried hollow points yet, but so far I'm pleased.

Let me start of with i LOVE this girsan.First got it and took it out without tearing it down cleaning and relubing, wanted to see what would happen.Stove pipe after stove pipe.No more than two shots without a stove pipe.A long hundred rounds with this and a complete tear down and clean/relube.same thing next go round.Tear down with wilson combat springs and 18 pound recoil spring.Trigger job done by myself.polished the feed ramp.Adjusted sear spring.Adjusted ejector tension.Took i think .064 off the front sight cause it was too tall.Drilled and painted sights.Added slim black rubber grips because the factory wood was to thick for me.I think that is about it.Why 4 stars? It now has about 1,000 rounds and not one FTF,FTE,FTB.That is with two factory mags and two 7 round stamped mags.Hollow points it does'nt matter what you feed it,It runs like a dream and smooth as silk.Given the time i put into it,I just think that is more than half the fun of it all.Out of the box mine didnt gee haw.You might have a totally different experience. Now given the price i paid, and what i have done to it.I do believe it will perform as well or even outshoot 1,000$ models on the market. It is no where near a super grade dont get me wrong. But this thing is pretty dang tight for what it is.Bottom line is if you have the know how and dont mind tinkering, this can be a cheap entry level compitition gun.Buds was awsome as well as my FFL.Thanks and happy shootin!

Really happy with this pistol, finish is good, sights are OK once I hit the front with some nail polish, trigger is good and getting better. Only a few hundred rounds through it so far but they have been flawless, not a big fan of the full length guide rod since it makes disassembly a bit of a pain but nothing I can't live with. Accuracy is good and it likes my favorite handload so no complaints. I would recommend it to anyone looking for an entry level 1911.

This is not first 1911, but Im confident it won't be my last Girsan! The gun is really more than I could have expected for the price, I took it apart for an initial clean up and was happy with how it all fit together, much tighter fits than the price would suggest. Low RMS machined surfaces with extremely good fit between mating parts .Full length guide rod. Excellent form of the beavertail safety. Straight knurled surfaces on both the front and back straps of the frame. Grips are wood and have an excellent finish. The ejection port is appropriately scalloped and relived to enhance positive ejection of the casing. The pistol has a baked on engineered poly coating which was very uniform.I was only able to put about 250 rounds of Federal and Winchester whit box 230 gr. ball ammo through it so far, but it handled them all without a hiccup. I did not shoot any HP ammo yet. I would expect I will have to match the HP bullet to the pistol as I have done with other Model 1911's.and probably polish the feed ramp. This pistol has excellent form, fit and function combined with value for the dollar.

This was my first handgun purchase and the process with Buds was very smooth, and they shipped it quick and I highly recommend Buds - will do business with them again.

Girsan 1911, however, is a different story. I have put probably close to 300 rounds down range and have used Winchester White Box, Blazer, Tul Ammo, Winchester PDX and several other brands of ammo. All of them have experienced atleast one FTF. This gun hates hollow point ammo and even has had issues with normal 45 acp - It is fine as a range gun and very accurate, however I would never want this to be my GTW sidearm or the weapon I'm left with should my life be on the line. I also was very disappointed to discover it is one of the few 1911's to use a full-length guide rod.

Overall I would give this gun a 3 out of 5 and that's solely because it was dirt cheap.
