Very nice made and looking 1911. Shoots great. Will not hough take Chip McCormick replacement mags unless you change out the floor plate. Dave

This piece isn't Good it's Great. Once in a while the arm's manufactures turn out a gem and the Girsan 1911 is one of them. Fit is superb every bit as good as my Colt or Kimber. The finish and I bought the chrome MC1911SHC-G2 is better then I expected. As far as function I have fired 350 round through this piece without one malfunction. shooting 200 grain LSWC and 230 grain FMJ round nose loaded fairly heavy. Accuracy is very good, better then I can shoot off hand, knowing this due to mounting the firearm in a ransom rest and then comparing my results with shooting off hand and from the bench. Out of the box which is a nice carrying case the trigger is pretty good, however I did a little work to the hammer assembly and spring, installed an aftermarket trigger with an over travel adjustment, and shock buffer. The trigger the piece comes with is a bit sloppy but usable. All in all you can spent more but I don't believe you'll get more. This is a very good firearm.

This gun look very nice for the price. I didn't get mine for the $499 price as I payed with my Credit Card but even the $513.97 price is not bad either. I my self as well did not receive the doted novak rear sights, but no matter I was planing on putting fiber optic sights on it anyways. Have not shoot it yet, cant wait until I do. Gonna give it a try this weekend with about 150 round from three different manufacturers to see if it eats any ammo brand. Gonna use PMC, Winchester and Magtech all 230gr ball ammo.
Back to the gun.
Very well built. I had no scratches on mine. Very well rail/bushing fit. Picatinny rail looked like it had a bit of oil residue from the machining but nothing I could not clean my self.
The gun arrived with 1 ACT-Mag Magazine, Safety Guide, Manual, Gun Oil, Shot .45shell "mine was brass, some people reported theirs was a steal casing"
I did buy two Chip McCormick 45acp mags "would not recommend them for Girsan" They do not fit at all, have to slam them in in order for them to stay in the gun, have heard they are not the greatest for all 1911 Manufacturers. My friend has a Llama 1911 and they work well in his so I got my money back for them. Gonna order 2 more ACT-Mag's for it as they fit well, but that's what we can expect form an Italian manufacturer.
BUDS advertises the Mec-Gar mags for this gun I have heard they work well on the Girsan as well. I might give them a try too for the price they are. I also have put some nice Hogue grips on mine as I never have been a fan of wood grips. $10 can't go wrong.
Be aware this gun is not fully Chromed, only the sides on the slide are Chromed the rest is brushed aluminum.

For all the little nick nacks mine had was not worth giving a bad review, some people might find little things asinine but then you would pay more money for a Colt or Springfield, for the price this gun is at, it's well worth it. For anyone looking for a nice 1911 model, I highly recommend this one.

Just picked up one of the Girsan 1911 45's. I must say these are awesome 1911s for the price. It truly is built as well or better than some that I have seen at 2x-3x the price. Accuracy is outstanding, function was flawless with 3 brands of ammo cycled through 300 rounds without an issue. The trigger is set just perfect. Slide / frame fit is outstanding, the rest of the piece is very well built, and will provide excellent service for many years. Overall, a top quality 1911 from Girsan of Turkey. This is a must have for 1911 collectors. It's a great deal in today's buying environment.
