I had to have the gun after I saw in the store, only problem everyone seemed to have the matted finished versus the blue steel version. Ordered from Buds, took the gun to the range. I put 50 rounds thru the pistol it fired without a hitch no problems at all, using Independence, Federal premium and a cheap russian brand. The gun has virtually no recoil, but the trigger is heavy. Not the range gun that you can shoot all day. You will get tired shooting this pistol. Not as accurate as I would like to be, but I got great groupings. I am not a revolver shooter, but this trigger pull is heavy. The blue finish is great on the gun, the grip is excellent, however I would like just a little more length at the bottom. I have to remind myself that its called the mini for a reason. The moon clips work well for loading the pistol. Unloading takes a little practice but its gets easier as you use the pistol move. So overall very happy with the gun, it goes bang every time you pull trigger. Love the 380 recoil, love the size, you can wear the gun in a Uncle Mikes IBW pouch all day and never know its there. My only complaint is the trigger, It a heavy pull, I hope it will get better with more rounds down range.

I am not too thrilled with this handgun. I wanted something for CC and I read a good review in Concealed Carry Handgun magazine so I did some research and I though it was a good buy. The gun came with 5 half moon clips which work OK but it does take some practice to load and unload the clips. With the clips I had no trouble firing off over 50 rounds. When I tried to fire rounds without the clips I had numerous problems with the rounds sticking preventing me from firing the gun. Even when I did get 5 rounds to fire without the clip I had a hard time ejecting the cartridges. The gun had a factory grade bluing and I has no trouble opening or closing it. My main problem with the gun is the long trigger pull that feels to be about 13 pounds. After about 30 rounds it starts to take a toll on the fingertips; supposedly the trigger pull cannot be lessened as this will prevent the bullet from receiving sufficient force to fire the cartridge. I did need to adjust the windage but I am not getting anywhere the same accuracy that I get from my Taurus Model 85 38 Ultralite. I plan on continuing to use the weapon to see if I loosen things up and improve my groupings. I'll keep you updated if things get better.

I have to say right off that I am not impressed with this product. I saw one at a local gun dealer and, after looking the piece over a couple of times, said, "I've gotta have one of these!". So off to Bud's I went and ordered one. I did examine the gun at the FFL dealer but it wasn't until I got it home that I saw exactly what I had.

After I had cleaned off the oil (packing grease?) I discovered several scratches on the gun frame, residue at the top of the rubber grips where they meet the frame, and just a generally dull finish on the revolver -- nothing at all like the "cold blue steel" effect from the display model or the photos. The display gun I had seen was pristine; the one I received had, I believe, been used as a demo or something. Nothing at all like the display or like the photos in the Taurus catalog or even on the front of the owner's manual. In addition, the cylinder release was very stiff -- almost inoperable -- and the cylinder swing-out had a rough "metal on metal" feel to it, as if something wasn't aligned quite right. Overall it looked like a cheap Saturday Night Special, not the Taurus product I was expecting.

Bud's assured me that the gun I received came straight from the manufacturer in that condition, as Bud's does not have any reason to handle the guns. I then called Taurus and explained the situation, and Taurus sent me a Fedex prepaid shipping label to send the gun back to them for examination.

So, I had the pistol less than 24 hours and it's already gone back to the manufacturer, and I haven't even got to fire it yet. I had hoped to take it on vacation with me next week up in the mountains to break it in, but Taurus says it's going to be at least 3 or 4 weeks at the earliest to get it back.

Frankly, I'm hoping Taurus just replaces the gun with another one that has been finished properly, and that they don't make me keep the one I received. Very poor workmanship on that one, but I know they can't all be like that because of the display gun that I first saw -- it was beautiful, and everything on it worked very smoothly.

I'll post a follow-up after I find out which way this is going to go.
