The STG-44 (Sturmgewehr 44) was developed in Nazi Germany during WWII and was the first ‘Storm’ (or assault) rifle to see major deployment.

Retaining as many of the original specs as possible, the GSG SCHMEISSER .22 Long Rifle  version of this piece of history flawlessly sends 25 rounds of ammo accurately and quickly downrange, and is perfect for casual plinking, target shooting, and hunting. Stunning wood finishing, easy-to-adjust iron sights, and simple safety features add to the STG-44’s superb level of quality. Packed in an old-world style pine crate made by Amish craftsman, the STG-44 offers everything to make any shooting experience a memorable one.

Almost hate to take it out of the Amish built crate. Everything is so very quality and perfect.. Thank you Buds for your great prices and products.

STG44 arrived today, excellent craftsmanship. Functions flawlessly. Have many 22 caliber rifles, this is now my favorite. Buds Gun Shop customer service personal were very helpful and had knowledge of their product. The price beat many other on-line dealers, even the brick and mortar gun shop i use. Was a little skeptic purchasing a fire arm on line, but Buds has made me confident now to continue buying from them. Fast prompt service, excellent prices, items received are as described, this satisfied customer will be returning for more. Sincerely; Henry Bearse

Very nice little gun. Loaded it up with 25 rounds and went out to give it a try. 25 rounds fired without any misfires, or jamming. Seems to be pretty accurate too. As with most others who have reviewed the STG-44, the wooded crate the "skilled Amish" assembled is junk, but worth buying it with the wooden case over the cardboard box.
The entire purchase was effortless and I'd buy from Bud's again. Thanks!

Fantastic transaction with Buds. I have read a lot of complaints about the case this gun comes in. For heavens sake it is a cheap wood box to transport your firearm. It is not a museum piece. The gun and box are great. I would recommend this gun to anyone. Great firearm and not picky with ammo. Fun to shoot. A

It does have some play in the stock after you attach it to the rest of the rifle. I shimmed it up some with electrical tape and that took out most of the wobble. The rear sights are not calibrated to the .22 cartridge so I had to set the elevation at "600 meters" in order to hit the target at 50 yards. It's no target rifle but it is a fun plinker and that's what it was made for! So far the only problem I have had with it is failure to feed from the magazine. You do have to pay special attention when loading the mag and if you do then it seems to run just fine. Over all I would say that this is a must have rifle if you are into historical military firearms, even though this is only a reproduction in .22LR. Now I just sit back and wait for more .22 ammo to show back up on the shelves!
