Buds service was great as always, the P-1 I received was in great shape looked new, I took it to the range after inspecting and was shooting a one inch group at 10 yards until it stopped ejecting the spent rounds, after inspection I noticed the ejector was missing along with the plunger and plunger spring, found the ejector on the floor but no plunger or spring, it was apparent that the gun was shipped without the plunger and spring and the ejector was just stuck in without them, didn't even make it through the first mag before the ejector popped out, found the parts on line put them in and absolutely love this gun, works great now, fun to shoot and is right on target. Would have given it 5 stars if it wasn't for the missing parts.

The P1/P38 pistol ordered from Buds is in excellent conditions, there were some minor scuff on the slide (easily removed) and some light scratching on the plastic grips but overall it looks like the gun was never fired, mechanically it was nearly perfect.

Mine was an older model without the fat slide / painted sights / or hex bolt. I started to decline the delivery. However, gun inspection indicated that this particular gun was in virtually new condition. I could not detect any evidence of use and no holster wear. This is probably a better gun for my use since I prefer a new, older-gun to a well worn newer model. I am satisfied with this P1 and will probably limit it to around 500 rounds / year and use 115g and 124g with 350 ft-lbs (or less) ammo to avoid risk of a cracked frame. I bought it for the historical design as well as a gun that can be fired. I shot it 32 rounds of 115g, alternating each round between FMJ and HP. It didn't miss a lick and shoots on target to my point of aim at 15-yards. It is fun to shoot. I will give it 4-stars. (A newer model in like-new condition would be a 5.)

This is my first transaction with Buds. Other businesses could learn a few lessons
from Buds, lightning fast shipping, quality products, great customer service and
outstanding pricing. I ordered the Walther P1 on a Wednesday evening and
received it from my FFL dealer Friday morning. The manufacturing date was
7/1964, made by the Carl Walther Waffenfabrik Olm/Do. Olm is a German
city, in which Walther opened a plant in 1949. The pistol does not have the
steel hex pin. I disassembled the the firearm and found no rust and very litte wear.
The bore is bright, shiny and the rifling is sharp and crisp, with no pitting and no
discernible wear. The pistol was cleaned and lubricated with Frog Lube and
reassembled. I Fired about 50 rounds of 115 grain Walmart white box 9mm
ammo at the range, the P1 fed and fired without problems. The P1 is a pleasure
to shoot, with good balance and tight groups, and operates smoothly as silk.
If you have ever wanted a Walther P1/38, this is a fine pistol at a very reasonable price.
I am more than pleased, I am overjoyed!
Thank you Buds.

Received the P1 with some slight wear on on the slide, but no real issues. Beautiful and historic Walther design to add along with my P5. Took it to the range and fired about 50 rounds. It was an unpleasant experience. Trigger slap was pronounced and I found my groups were far from tight. I went again about a week later. Felt the annoying trigger slap as it sprang forward after each shot, but hung in there and tried not to anticpate it. AND THEN, either the slap subsided, or my finger was getting numb (perhaps a bit of both), I became more one with the '1' and found this to be an exceptional pointable and ergonamic pistol. The groups became tighter and I moved the targets back further as they remained nice and tight. I had to get comfortable with this pistol and once I did, found it to shoot about as well as anything. I hear people say this is not a gun for the range, but for combat. I think it can be a gun for the range (only issue is trigger), and can't wait to get back out there. As surplus, I'm sure some shoot better than others. For the price and the solid Walther quality, I couldn't be happier.
