This AK is awesome. Everything looks oversized compared to a Saiga I once had. It came with 2 refurbished steel magazines and double stack bolt. I was hesitant at first because I had purchased the M77 pap 308 and it had crooked sights with rough machining. This one is flawless and I will never get rid of it. I'm happy I went with this one over the IO INC they had on sale. This is built to go to war.

I love this rifle! Bud's service was great. My FFL was astounded how beautiful this rifle looks. As far as function is concerned, this rifle was flawless through 100 rds. at the range today. To settle some confusion I have seen on the forums, it does have the double stack bolt. Mine showed up with straight sights and gas tube. I can't find anything wrong with it. The Tapco mag fits tightly no wobble and the milsurp that came with it has some minor wobble. Nothing to worry about. Great job Bud's.

I am very satisfied with this purchase. The fit and finish is more then I expected from this rifle. I took it to the range and put 40 rounds through it only have a failure to feed on the 30 something round (due to what I expect was just newly machined parts) racked it back and caught my fingernail on the dust cover and pulled it off and stopped shooting because of it but other then that I happy with this rifle and buds customer service if you are thinking of buying this product do.

I purchased my N-PAP a few months ago and finally took it to the range this weekend. Being an AK affectionado, I wanted to round out my collection already having a Romanian, Hungarian. and domestic Polymer. Out of the box the fit and finish were outstanding as well as all of the internals which were in pristine condition. There were no dings, canted sites or some of the other problems that plague many AKs. I wanted to get off a few rounds before it goes back in the box for posterity. I have a variety of mags, including blued surplus and new black painted steel, Tapco polymers, and some new primer coated Korean. Some of the mags had to be modified just a bit, except for the Korean that fit like a glove. I was not thrilled with the mags that came with it. One was a polymer and the other looked like a surplus something or other that had a couple of dings in it, but they both fit just fine.

It took a little getting used to the longer and higher stock and the uncontoured foregrip. On my Romanian and Hungarian I put an inexpensive rubber stock extender which really made a difference. My polymer has a NATO stock and is probably the best feeling of all. The issue I have with the N-PAP is with the higher cheek weld, I have to bring my head back further and lower it to get a good site picture with the post and notch site. I ran a couple of mags through it without a hiccup using steel cased TULAMMO and WPA. On my other AKs, I have installed a muzzle brake and recoil buffer, but since my N-PAP is going to be for collection purposes only, I am going to leave it as it came. I bought some aftermarket sling attachments in case I ever want to put a sling on it.

To settle one argument, it DOES NOT have a chrome lined barrel which many people think because the exterior of the bolt group is highly polished steel. It is no big deal since what little corrosive ammo I do have, I shoot out of my Romanian which is chrome lined. The dust cover has a side and rear release button and there is absolutely no wobble at all.

I got groups at 50 to 100 yards consistent with my other AKs using the iron sites only. On my polymer, I have an illuminated reticle, but other than putting a 4X optic on it, which would require a rail mount, I am going to leave this purchase stock, I thought I did pretty well using iron sites. This will probably be my last AK and for the price, the N-PAP cannot be beat. At some point in the future, it could be possible to stop all 922r imports, so that is another reason I purchased this AK.

I have only done business with one other online vendor, but Buds always comes out in terms of price and service. Overall because it is a classic in its own right, I am going to have to give it 5 stars.
