Straight from the pages of history … the greatest conflict of modern times, World War II … comes the new Citadel M-1 carbine. Built to the exacting specifications of the G.I. model used by U.S. infantrymen in both WWII theaters of battle and in Korea, this reproduction rifle comes to you chambered in the fun and economical .22 LR cartridge. Used by officers as well as tankers, drivers, artillery crews, mortar crews, and other personnel in lieu of the larger, heavier M1 Garand rifle, the M-1 carbine weighed only 4.5 to 4.75 pounds. The Citadel M-1, made by Chiappa in Italy, weighs in at 4.8 lbs. – nearly the exact weight of the original. Barrel length and OAL are also the same as the "United States Carbine, Caliber .30, M1", its official military designation.

This 22 rifle is one of best 22 rifles that I have purchased, easy to shoot, good sights, and very nice to eyes.

The M1 Carbine design no matter what the caliber (.30 Carbine, 9mm, or .22 LR) makes a good camp gun. It is so light and balanced that with some practice it can be fired accurately with one hand without using the shoulder stock.

As usual Bud's delivers with great service every time. But today I received the Citadel M-1 22 and was very excited since I've owned a real M-1 30 cal. for around 40 years. I was well aware of the plastic parts and that's OK it does look great. Shooting was another matter. It started with snagging the underside of the round on the chamber edge and then when I did fire it the bolt hangs on the back top edge of the magazine. Every shot. The manual states that every gun is tested at the factory. I don't know about that. I did round off the edges of the magazines and switched from hollow point to solid nose rounds and it seems to have helped a great deal. I must say Italian quality control just don't measure up to the good old USA standards. Yes, I would buy the gun again because I just love the look and feel of it and when it shoots good it"s really good. Good Luck ya'll and have a nice day!

Thank you Buds Guns for the great products and exceptional service. Keeping in mind that Buds does not manufacture the guns that are sold. This negative review has no reflection on Buds Guns. This is a negative review on my experience with the Citadel M1a Carbine Rifle 22cal. As an owner of a M1 Garand, I thought it would be cool to own a M1a Carbine and the fact that it's a economical 22cal., I was looking forward to lots of plinking time at a reasonable amout of money in ammo. Well, to start with; the sights drove me crazy as they would move from side to side with every other shot fired. I say every other shot because it would STOVE-PIPE EVERY OTHER SHOT, causing damage to the shell casing rendering it unuseable. I used CCI Mini-Mags and they work great in all my other 22's; Ruger 10-22, ISSC-22 and S&W M22a. After attempting to fire off 100 rounds, I managed to actually shoot 45 to 50 rounds and needless to say with the PLASTIC CHEAP sights moving around after every shot, well my time at the range was a waste of time. So I return home and email the people at Chiappa Firearms and get a return authorization and sent the carbine in for repair or replacement. I sent it in on June 8, 2012, and now it is August 12, 2012 and I still haven't heard from Chiappa. Hopefully, it will come back to me in good operating order. Am I happy with my choice? NO! Would I ever recommend this weapon? NO! Would I buy another Chiappa product? Heck No! God Bless America...... I get to write this and still go shooting my other Pistols and Rifles......

Saw this on Sunday night. Ordered immediately. Received Tuesday. Buds was fast. Second gun bought from them. Wood stock looks very nice. Came with two clips. Front parts around barrel are plastic but that's ok. You really can't tell. Have not shot yet so can't relay anything. Action seems very smooth though. Gun is lite. My kids could carry this all day, if they are able to get it away from me.
