excellant! everything I was hoping it would be. gave it a good cleaning and lube then off to the range. fired 100 rounds, no problems, no FTF or FTE at all, ran beautifully. recoil is negligable. decent trigger, a bit gritty at first. my groups were pretty much 3 to 4 inches at 10 yards, but then, thats not bad for me, so I'm happy and impressed. I have a 45 Citadel thats a tack driver, this little brother will work out well too. it's just my old eyes, but I'll probably replace the front site with a red fiber site. or maybe try paint. great buy, I highly recomend it, and Bud's folks were wonderful to aork with.

I would by this gun again. In this price range I think anybody should expect to do some tune up. My first trip to the range revealed some failures to go completely into battery and some failures to feed. I ordered a pair of Mec-Gar magazines and a Wolff recoil/firing pin return spring set. The new recoil spring was a tad longer but is rated at a normal (for 9 m/m) 14 pounds of tension. The slide definitely had a stronger return with the new recoil spring. I ran 200 rounds through it today and the problems are cured. I confirmed both mags that came with my gun have trouble while I was at the range. I took some time from shooting holes in paper to plink at clay pigeon chips. At 25-30 yards it does exactly what I wanted: be a fun and cheap to shoot 1911. I'll see if Howa/Legacy will swap out the factory magazines. Buying from Bud's was a breeze.

Great gun especially for the price ($329 / 340). This is my first 1911. THis gun in 9mm has low recoil. I was able to accurately place shots with ease and I'm no marksman. I took it out this afternoon for the first time. Setup my 8 inch targets at about 10 yards and was able to to all shots on target pretty close together, 4 of the shots practically touched in a vertical line. I'm sure it is more accurate than this shooter. Tried some rapid fire at 6 yards after watching a pro on youtube. Easily put all shots on target and actually had 2 sets of double taps touching.

Basically I highly recommend and would buy another right now if I had $350 more to get one.

Range trip today. Shot 150 or so rounds. Only problem, and it's the reason for 3 stars, is the magazines. Neither would hold the slide open on the last shot, or drop free... Gunna call in to see if I can get new ones... The followers on the mags seem to have a little play in them that slips past the slide lock.

Other than that, I'm pleased with the gun and it is still worth the price, for sure. New mags will hopefully solve the problem and I'll have one heck of a range gun. Feels like a .22 with the very little recoil, and accuracy is good for punching paper and getting a new shooter excited about shooting and not scared of such a big gun... It's a pussycat when compared with smaller carry weapons that are more of a handful, coincidentally.

Would I buy this gun at this price again? Definitely, it's a pretty great deal when you consider .22 1911's are the same price, if not more.

Cheers, and happy shootin'

Got to admit for the price I was'nt expecting much, first trip to the range had no FTF or FTE,only issue was trigger would stick in and had to be pushed forward to reset a couple times per magazine.Took it home and spent a few minutes deburring a few spots here and there, next day at range gun performed flawlessly. This fit and finish of this gun is much much better than I would have ever expected in this price range, this is a solid built 1911 so I would recommed it to anyone who is in the market for one.
