Gary, Marlin quality control is actually excellent at this time. There were some questionable years from 2008 through 2012 but have since been ironed out.

These are great rifles. Our family hold has 9 Marlin rifles. 3 are mine, honey.

Everyone who has reviewed this rifle says it's too good looking to shoot, well I can agree with it's good looks. However, I never owned a gun I didn't shoot and not about to start that now, so It shoots as good as it looks. Take a little time to adjust the rear sight and it will put all of them in a nice tight group. Can't say anything bad about the rifle looks good, shoots good. What else is there to say? They are out of stock right now, I may have got the last one good deal for me.

Marlin 1894 Limited Edition 45 LC arrived today. Shipping was fast. Gun is very nicely done, the wood to steel fit is great along with the high gloss walnut stock and forearm with a nice grain pattern. I love shooting guns and I'm torn between leaving this one untouched to pass on as an heirloom or fire it at the range. Very pleased with this purchase!

I got this rifle to Wild Bunch shoot. It's great, well balanced, comes to the shoulder easy, and is light in weight with 10 in the magazine. The only drawbacks in my opinion are the stock lever safety an the stock and front sight which is somewhat hard to pick up with my aging Freddie Sykes-like eyes. Both of these have cowboy gunsmith work around. Great Rifle I've shot with a Spaghetti 1860 and a Rossi, this Marlin is the best of the lot.

The fit and finish are nice, I am pleased with the grain on the one I received. However I have not fired it yet and may not.

Nice fit and finish. Action is slick and functions well. Had to raise rear to max to get on target at 50 yards. Do not expect to get any where near the wood in the picture. Mine is OK walnut but have seen more grain in a 2X4. Buy a standard model and get your money's worth.
