Great buy. Like all XD pistols it shoots great and is simple to clean and maintain. Will probably pick up a 9mm also at some point.

Great carry weapon. And very accurate for it's size. The 40 is quite manageable. Buds service is outstanding.

I BOUGHT THIS PISTOL AND I LOVE IT. ON THE OTHER HAND BUDS GUN SUPPLY NEEDS SOME HELP. I ORDER THIS PISTOL ON A FRIDAY AND WATCHED IT GO FROM "ORDER COMPLETE" TO "SHIPPING" IN ONE DAY THEN WATCHED IT SIT IN THE "SHIPPING" STATUS FOR 7 DAYS. I CALLED ON THE 8TH DAY AND ASKED THAT MY ORDER BE CANCELED AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD CALL ME BACK. ONE HOUR LATER MY ORDER WENT FROM "SHIPPING" TO "SHIPPED" WITH NO CALL BACK. NOT GOOD BUDS GUN SUPPLY

RESPONSE BY BUDS: CUSTOMER ORIGINALLY ATTEMPTED TO PLACE AN ORDER FOR THIS GUN ON OUR LAW ENFORCEMENT DISCOUNT SITE AND COULD NOT PRODUCE THE NECESSARY CREDENTIALS. ORDER HAD TO BE TRANSFERRED TO THIS SITE WHICH CAUSED DELAY.

This was my first firearm purchase from Bud's and overall I was very pleased and happy with their service. I love this XD. I already own a Glock 17 and I was looking for a second firearm with more stopping power and one I could easily conceal in the future (ATM it is illegal to in Illinois). This XD subcompact fits the bill perfectly. For those wondering about the recoil, because it is a .40S&W subcompact, the recoil is much more noticeable, but it is quite manageable. With some practice at the range, one can easily accommodate it. I found as I fired it more, I got better and more comfortable with it. I know with practice I will only improve further. I absolutely love the stainless finish and am glad I went for it. It is worth the extra $. The case is very nice, but I found the accessories to be just okay. The holster and magazine holder have an adjustable screw that squeezes the sides together, unlike other similar commercial products that have a better retention system. They will work for temporary use until I can pick up something better. The speed loader also left something to be desired. This XD is real nice to shoot. I found though when using the standard magazine that my pinky finger fell below the grip. My solution to this was a Pearce grip (got that from Bud's too-see my review). It was like firing a completely different XD now my pinky finger has a spot to rest. IMHO Springfield should include this with the XD, but until they do, do yourself a favor and pick one up. Unless you have smaller hands, you will be glad that you did. The reason why I gave Bud's a 4 out of 5 was the shipping time. My XD was supposedly sent "UPS Blue" 2 day, but it took 5 days to reach my FFL. I would expect this for a package sent ups ground from California or something, but for a 2 day package from Kentucky to Illinois the delivery time was very disappointing. That was the only negative to an otherwise pleasant transaction. Overall I think this XD comes in a very nice package and I found Bud's to have the best price around even after adding in my FFL transfer fee. So for those of you contemplating getting this XD, just do it and get it from Bud's-you won't regret that you did. Thank you Bud's for a very satisfying purchase. I look forward to buying more firearms here in the future!
