Lets start off by saying Buds was amazing to deal with.This was my first firearm purchase through them. I bought this XD 40 and a XDM 45 at the same time using their layaway program and it could not have been easier. Once paid in full it only took 2 days to get my guns to my ffl. Guns arrived as expected, in new condition.

Now on to the gun. this thing shoots amazing. It is one of the most accurate pistols i own, i believe the longer site radius helps with that a lot. The longer slide and barrel also help with the "snappiness" of the 40sw. I have put hand loads of 135gr, and 155gr through this gun with no problems to speak of. I have also shot some 165gr and 180gr factory federal and pmc bronze with no problems. I cant wait to get a 357 SIG barrel for it and see how it does. As for the XD gear, I don't care for it at all. Its very cheap and only good use i have found for it is that it is good for first time gun buyers and maybe a little range time. Other than that, this is a fantastic firearm. I would defiantly buy it again.

Great service from Buds, gun arrived within a couple days of shipping.

The XD is a fantastic combat pistol option. It's both a great Glock alternative and can also complement your collection if you are a fan of Glocks. The value is through the roof, considering you can get a brand new XD in the low $400s. These pistols are tested and perform flawlessly.

My specific pistol was the XD Tactical 5" barrel in black and OD green. It has become my primary home defense pistol. The long slide and barrel assembly allows a light to be attached to the gun with minimum fowling.

The trigger is different from the Glock, better in some ways, worse in others: it's noticeably lighter than the Glock trigger, with a very very smooth takeup reminicient of da/sa guns. However, the reset is not as crisp and travels further than the Glock.

The only gripe about the gun is that, although the grip texture mimics the Glock gen3 pistols, it has nowhere near the grip traction. It feels almost as slippery as a bar of soap, so a good idea is to add a sleeve, or you can do what I did and add sandpaper grip tape to the grip panels and also to the grip safety bar in the rear. It makes a world of difference.

This was a great experience! I have only one gun and want to get back into shooting since i'm out of the service. I fired this gun the first day and I was impressed 150 rounds in and no problems what so ever. the speed loader and holsters were a nice touch too!

As far as buds goes they were great. There was a slight problem with the payment method they have online, but they were helpful and got it cleared up within a day. Once that was taken care of it took 4 days to receive my firearms.(Illinois has the 3 day waiting period)

I own the 40 XD in 3 inch for concealed carry. A few of my friends who are law enforcement officers some on the swat team carry the 3 inch 40 for concealed carry. A few local law enforcement agencies just went to the XD from a HK USP. Tough gun, very accurate, very fair price. I trust my life with it out of the box. I just bought the 5 inch tactical I can share mags with my 3 inch. I put night sights on it with a surefire 300x. I carry the 5 inch tact in a Safariland holster. For concealed carry I have a GALCO hip holster and ankle hoster. GOOD TO GO!
