Leupold RCX trail cameras have a blink-of-an-eye trigger speed of less than one second. Both the RCX-1 (8 MP) and the RCX-2 (10 MP) combine that speed with a wide-angle 54-degree camera lens, meaning more images of full bodies and racks rather than ears and rears. The RCX series delivers high-resolution color (day) and infrared (night) still images, as well as a video option and uses CMOS sensor technology to produce tremendously sharp, crisp images. For exceptionally clear images at night, the PIR LEDs (36 in the RCX-1 and up to 48 in the RCX-2) combine with XD (Xtreme definition) image processing and advanced auto-exposure calculations. The digital shutter of the XD processor silently captures the image from the CMOS sensor as soon as the PIR sensor is activated. The IR filter self-activates, protecting from infrared rays during the day and responding in spectacular detail at night. This twice a day action conserves battery life and minimizes noise. A special day/night sensor allows the camera to quickly adjust exposure as light levels change and to activate the infrared (IR) system at night.
RCX Trail Cameras offer customizable features such as multiple options for file type/ size, picture quality, sensitivity (auto or four levels low to super high), time lapse, multi-picture mode, event delay, operation hours, video quality/length, separate day/night settings, camera name, and sensor angle. Both cameras also offer custom picture stamp with date, time, temperature and moon. The frame is constructed of a durable, high-impact ABS/polycarbonate-blend shell for maximum strength and protection for the internal elements which has been tested to a rigorous accelerated weather and UV exposure test. The RCX accepts a 32GB SDHC card via a waterproof trap door. RCX cameras will operate for months using eight AA Lithium batteries. The battery cartridge tray can be pre-loaded and quickly installed into the camera in the field and have 12-volt external battery capabilities.
RCX-1 has single 45 ° sensing coverage to 45 feet.
RCX-2 has audio capabilities and barometer readings. The RCX-2 is the only trail camera to offer Dual Sensor Technology (DST) to deliver a more complete picture of game activity in your area. For larger areas, choose the wide cone for 45 degrees of sensing coverage to a range of 45 feet. Select the tighter 10 degree cone reaching out to 90 feet for use with a or feeder. Or use both sensors at the same time to activate the full force of the DST sensor zone at nearly 1400 square feet of sensor zone coverage and catch animals on the fringes (where the big bucks often hang). allows for deactivation of 12 LEDs to maximize battery life. The RCX-2 comes with Leupold's lock-down security plate with a single nail-mount slot built into the top of the plate and a nylon strap for mounting.
