Strength, Simplicity and Ruggedness. Ruger® GP100® double-action revolvers are among the most comfortable shooting revolvers. Their rugged, medium-sized frame and grip system permit repeated firings with minimal shooter fatigue.

Easy on the hand and budget, all GP100 revolvers boast solid steel sidewalls (no side-plates), and frame widths that are increased with extra steel in critical areas that support the barrel, making them rugged, reliable, and dependable.

watched this 3"er come and go from rugers stock. Finally decided to just get it, I like revolvers with shorter barrels and fixed sights. Anyway, it finally came in and after cleaning it up, ran a mix of 158 lead .38spl, 140 grain HP .38spl plusP, and 158grain sp full house .357. No issues and I really didn't expect any. It's very accurate, totally reliable, all the things I like about revolvers. I put on a old style grip setup I had ( do not like hogue finger groove grips at all) and painted front sight white. Stuck it in my galco combat master holster and all is good.
It's got some rough edges on it and will need stoned and smoothed. After firing the forcing cone has a burr around outside edge. No biggie, a little work. It is definitely not as refined as a S&W, but rather built like a tank and something that will need no pampering. Not a thing of beauty, but I knew about Rugers (this is hardly my first) All in all, a good value and I am satisfied with my purchase.
Go ahead and get it. If you've never used revolvers with fixed sights, don't worry the sight picture is very familiar once you're behind the gun.

Excellent weapon. I put 250 rounds of assorted ammo through this little beauty and it ate it up. The recoil with magnum loads was easily managed and was a lot more accurate than I thought it would be. As usual Bud's was right on point. A satisfied customer many times over. Thanks Guys.

Watched Bud's inventory for several weeks, then......one day, this gun was in stock. (about 3 weeks ago now). Ordered immediately, gun came in within 2-3 days. went and picked it up, no problems at all. Beautiful gun, well made, can't wait to shoot it. For the money, Ruger makes a fine product, can't wear it out in normal use. Will be one of my many home defense weapons with Hornady Critical D.defense 38+P rounds in it, (for wife). Then....next day, it was sold out and is still not available at Buds. I was very lucky indeed. 99% of all of the Rugers self-defense handguns are sold out....hm-m-m-m-m, wonder why?? Anyway, this is my 7th gun from Buds and even though I drive 70 miles one way to get it, I take the wife's Prius (50 MPG) so that's not too bad! Will continue to shop there for sure!

Great gun, nice price. Looks like prices are creeping up due to current events. I bought this one for $536 just a couple weeks ago. Shooting .38 its like a bb gun. Full house 357's hit hard, but it is very manageable. Fixed sights were dead on. I would recommend a dis-assembly & clean before shooting the first time. I removed a few metal shavings from the crane area.

This GP 100 was a great buy, 515.00 including shipping. No dealer beats Buds prices. The fit and finish of this gun is flawless. I put about 250 rounds of 38 special and 250 rounds of 357 down range and its a pleasure to shoot. The gun is a little on the heavy side but that helps controll the recoil of those powerful 357 rounds. I assure you that you will not be disappointed with Buds or this gun. This was my 3rd purchase from Buds and I'll be back for more.
