The PCR is identical in size to the CZ 75 Compact, but thanks to its forged aluminum alloy frame it weighs in at a full 1/4 pound lighter, making it more comfortable for everyday carry. Equipped with a decocking lever, the PCR is designed to be decocked before holstering. After decocking, the trigger safety is much like that of a double action revolver. While there is no need to flip a safety lever off, the relatively longer and heavier trigger pull for the first round requires the conscious decision to pull the trigger before firing. Other additions to the PCR include rubber grip panels, serrated front and back straps for improved handling and a loaded chamber indicator.

The firearm is very nice, but I did encounter one slight problem. The right grip screw was not screwed in completely which had me concerned....and it turned out my fears were real as the screw was crossed threaded into the aluminum frame. I was happy to learn it was only the first 2-3 threads and I was able the re-tap/cleanup the threads using a M3.5 x .6 tap I had (this is the correct thread/screw size on CZ 75's). I preordered a set of thin aluminum grips from CZ-USA which came with new screws so I didn't have to reuse the screw that was cross threaded. In the end all is well....the thin grips look and feel great (taking about 5/16" off the width of the grip). I have no doubt the firearm will function perfectly when I get a chance to shoot it (I'm fortunate to have my own range on my property). I gave it 4 stars because of the cross threaded screw issue (which could have been a big problem if it wasn't only the first few threads since the frame is aluminum it can "strip" fairly easy). Bud's was as advertised and I expect to purchase more firearms through them in the near future.

Excellent firearm, from fit, to fire (operation), to realiability. My duty weapon is a SIG P229 .40. As much as I convinced myself to love my pricey SIG as my favorite personal firearm, it simply cannot compete with my CZ75D PCR. Although this CZ is in 9mm for concealed carry I couldn't ask for anything more. Some peope complain about the weight of both the P229 and this CZ75D but honestly unless your an active combat troop hauling 80+ lbs of equipment on 24 hour missions, I don't believe the extra few ounces, lets even say, the extra pound is going to prevent you from completeing whatever job it is you intend to use your CZ75D PCR for.

I've been carrying this CZ in a stronghand IWB holster almost daily since July of 2011. I've done light construction, lifting and hauling lumber over my head and was not once concerned or discomforted by my CZ75D (this is part is due to the holster but even when I had a cheapo IWB holster I was happy and comfortable carrying). I wear a size 9/10 glove and the gun fits like a dream in my hand. The only qualm I had was with the flush plate magazines that came wiht the gun stick out undert he trigger guard as a 1911 style mag. This can pinch your pinky when firing, so I simply filed/grinded the baseplate to be flush with the bottom of the grip/magwell and its complete perfection!

If you're looking for a fun, classic, yet stylish, and reliable 9mm for carry or primary use I'd count on this CZ75D to offer complete confidence. Even as a range gun its a blast. To clarify IWB carry, I'm a 35'' waist with some love handles and a gut, I'm 5'11" yet have no trouble carrying this firearm comfortable in the summer t-shirt spectrum or winter with a heavy jacket. CZ is a great company and makes an awesome firearm.

What a fantastic pistol. I've owned a full sized CZ75B for about 8 years and have been completely satisfied with it and that pistol is what fueled my desire for the PCR. It fits my hand like it was molded for it and has a very natural "pointability". Like others have mentioned it does come covered in cosmoline (or similar preservative) and really needs a good cleaning before taking to the range, but mine was completely flawless upon opening the box, so I'm glad they take the extra step.

The very first CZ I ever handled was a compact at a gun show and I knew I had to have one some day. Well today is that day. I read every review I could find with the P-01 vs the Compact vs the PCR and even the P-06 (.40) I really didn't want to start loading for yet ANOTHER caliber so I knew the 9mm was the platform for me. Not opening the whole 9 vs 40 vs 45 debate here. Buy, practice with and carry what makes you happy and that you shoot the best.

I didn't need a rail under the gun so that narrowed my choice to the original Compact or the PCR. Looks like the PCR won. I'll post a range report once I have a chance to get her cleaned up good.

If you are thinking about this gun, just do it. I've handled just about everything on the market besides exotics (and a few ot those too) and NOTHING feels as good in my hand as the CZ. Beg, borrow or ok, don't steal one, but you get the idea. There is a reason this is the most carried handgun in the world outside of the US.
