A truly perfect "scout style rifle". Balanced, quick to mount and awesomely accurate. Grouping at 1.2" at 100yds right out of the box with Federals cheapest 55gr ammo. I can't wait to see what 64 gr match will do! Typical CZ comfort and perfection. Zero flaws. Yes, the bolt needs to be broken in and yes, this baby is loud, lol! This gun will feel like it's your Best Friend! I mounted a Vortex 2-7x32 on Burris rings and it is perfect for it. You'll want to carry it with you wherever you go!

This little .223 rifle is every bit as good as advertised. It is light and compact and quick to aim, as the sights line up very nicely. And right out of the box the accuracy was spot-on for me, with no sight adjustment necessary. At first the conventional trigger was a little gritty, until I totally removed all of the creep and now it is perhaps one of the nicest triggers I have ever encountered. The set-trigger is definitely a "hair trigger" as advertised. I set it as to not be used for the time being. On a couple of occasions, I had trouble chambering a round. The bullet would get about half way out of the magazine and then hang up, but I now attribute this to my not being quite forceful enough. The stock is attractive, with nice checkering. In my opinion, this is just a sweet little rifle and I do not regret my purchase. And as expected, everything went fine at Bud's end of the deal, with zero problems and quick shipping.

First I want to say that my online purchase couldn't have gone smoother! Buds is a great place to buy online. As for the rifle, its also great! The wood has a nice beautiful but tough finish, the in-letting is micro accurate. It has metal support at the rear of the action in the form of a pillar & all the in-letting had a decent coat of finish applied. The trigger is very simple to adjust to your liking & the set trigger is a nice feature, although the trigger can be adjusted very nicely to 3LBS & the set can then be eliminated for hunting purposes if one wishes to do so. I first shot the rifle using factory Australian ammo, this ammo uses a 55gr sierra blitz & @ 54 yrds (all the range I can get in the back yard) the bullet holes was over lapping! Very accurate IMO.. I will not hesitate to buy from Buds again! Its been a pleasure dealing with this company. Thanks,Robert

Positives: What can I say other than the sweetest little rifle I've ever had the pleasure or shooting. Overall one of the most satisfying purchases I've ever made and no hassle at all from either Buds or the shop they sent it to. Handles so naturally, hardly any recoil, a compact scope (I use the Leopold FX-II 2.5x Ultralight) fits nicely with the medium rings. No bolt clearance issue. Barrel free floats without a huge gap. The stock of is of very handsome walnut, the checkering is very good and sharp, but not too small and not too large. The finish is a nice matte sheen, not a cheap plastic coating. The think rubber recoil pad is handsome and more than adequate for this easy-shooting rifle. The bluing is quite good. The contour of the barrel is just perfect for this small rifle. 18" is just about perfect too. The front sight hood is a little too large, but it comes off easily. I like sights for backup should a scope break or become unusable. After a break in period, with quality ammunition, 5 shot groups at 100 yards came to an 1.5 inches. It shoots better than I can. Perhaps if I put it on a heavy bench and bagged it, the groups would shrink further. I wouldn't be surprised. Even with cheap Borwn Bear ammo, it shoots surprisingly well. The 1:9 twist seems optimal for bullets in the 50-60 grain weight range. Contrary to what some claim, it is not terribly difficult to load cartridges singly. You can't just drop them in like you would with a push-feeder, but if you press them into the magazine and pull backwards with your thumb or finger on the shoulder of the case, it goes into the magazine easily enough. In my opinion, this is the ultimate Coyote dispatching tool without breaking the bank or alarming the neighbors (ARs can do that sort of thing). The only negatives: Some of the machine work, particularly where it isn't seen is a bit rough. The blot is not slick. Though as I am breaking it in, it is getting better. A light application of a light lubricant, like PB-50, seems to work wonders in this department. Also, the throat is short and the magazines aren't very big. This sort of limits the maximum weight of bullet you can use, but with a 1:9 twist, it's not really a good idea to go heavier than 65 grains or so, and this isn't a problem. Also, I would have liked an extra magazine and maybe the scope rings included, but I suppose they have to make their money somehow. The CZ-ring system is not particularly impressive, but so far, it works well. Only the rear ring has a lug milled into it to brace the ring. I would have liked the front and the rear dovetails to have lugs so broth the front and rear ring braced against recoil, though with .223, even in these light rifles, recoils is hardly an issue. The single set trigger is very, very light. The force needed to push the trigger forward to achieve the set is considerable--I have to use my thumb. My finger isn't strong enough "in reverse." For comparison, I have no trouble disengaging a M1 or Mini-14's safety with my finger "in reverse." The normal trigger is adjustable and not bad. It came from the factory quite creepy and rough. A little adjustment, some breaking-in, and a little dab of lithium grease made it go from mediocre to good. It's not a benchrest trigger, but it certainly does the job. The safety is sort of odd: forward for safe and rear for fire--the opposite of most bolt actions. However it is like most hammer-fired guns in this way. Think of the safety like a hammer. It is nicely knurled and it is easy enough to get purchase on with either your right or left hand, though it is easier with the right. The trigger guard is unusually large for some reason. Not a problem, but it is noticeably graceless in such an otherwise graceful looking rifle. Also, a 3-round flushing-fitting magazine would enhance appearances. I am sure that some yearn for a 10 round banana mag--you can't please everyone.
