I bought two of the Savage Axis in .308 from Bud's Gun Shop back in 2011 for my son and son-in-law. Delivery of the product by Bud's was flawless and super fast even for an order during the Christmas season. I'm a little late writing this review but want to say that my boys have used these rifles for the last two deer seasons and with the help of some Nikon glass have taken several deer with them. I've shot both of them at the range and they are as advertised. A quality Savage firearm at a very affordable price. The bolt throw angle is a little steep but doesn't hit the scope and the break on the trigger is a little stiff out of the box but very manageable. Both of my boys had these rifles sighted in with really six shots each, but shot another three round group for verification. Both rifles were less than 1" MOA at 100 yards. For the budget minded hunter this is the one for you in my opinion.
