I am really impressed with this rifle. The only down side is the stock, but I plan on upgrading that at some point (plastic weld seem down the top of the stock will get you if your not careful). Easily mounted my 3-9x40 Redfield Revolution scope with medium height rings to boot. Iron sites are great and for a long neck like my self made for easy target aquisition!

I am very satisfied with this savage rifle. It shoots well and the rifle over all quality is very good. plus it has a lot of added details, like the big bolt, accutrigger, threaded barrel, iron sights. I gave it a four because the stock could be a little bit better, mine had a crooked cut at the end.. this lightly touches the barrel and its not supposed to. no big deal for me as I can easily shave off the excess material.

Fantastic rifle for the price. Typical Savage accuracy: awesome right out of the box.
Compact, light, handy, yes still capable of consistent 600yd accuracy.
Iron sights are crude, but excellent in close brush & thick swamp.
Highly customizable, loss of options available.
The standard stock IS flimsy, but it really doesn't affect anything until you start to really push the ranges. Anything under 300yds, you're good to go.

I'm actually disappointed with this rifle. I wish I'd have spent a little more money and bought a Ruger. Ruger comes with rings ready to go. All you have to do is buy a scope. I've been hunting all over town today trying to find the correct base for this savage rifle. I'm at home now with the WRONG one and not happy. You have to have a base, then rings and a scope. Ridiculous actually. I was just going to use it open sights but I'm not having much luck with the grouping and I am a pretty good shot. The owners manual says to use federal premium 168 grain ammo...40 bucks a box. No thanks. I'm going to see if I can get some tighter groups with the nikon scope I bought for it. As far as the reviews that say sub moa...not sure they're telling the truth about that. I had a heck of a time getting rear sight to move while trying to sight it on. They were really frozen. But hey, you get what you pay for. There's a reason this gun is low 400 bucks.
