Axis rifles save money without sacrificing performance. Savage didn't design a cheaper rifle, they designed a better way to make a Savage, including pillar-bedded barrels with more uniform cooling and greater consistency. These Axis XP youth rifles feature a modern design with silky-smooth bolt operation and a detachable box magazine. They also come with an Adjustable AccuTrigger and a Weaver Kaspa 3-9x40 scope that is mounted and bore-sighted, a black carbon steel barrel and a synthetic Muddy Girl Camo stock.

Bought this for my wife%uFFFD.It fits her perfectly%uFFFD.A little more recoil than I had expected%uFFFDBut that was shooting from a bench with some 100 grain Winchester deer and antelope ammo%uFFFDThe scope was loose and not boresighted very well due to that%uFFFDA savage boo boo I expect...It loosened and slid back as I was trying to sight it in for her%uFFFDI would recommend checking that should you purchase the package%uFFFD.Outside of that it arrived in a timely fashion and I am happy with the rifle%uFFFD.I am going to get her a limbsaver and a box of hornady low recoil ammo for her range work (she has rotator cuff issues)%uFFFDShe'll never feel the recoil hunting%uFFFD..She got a 5 pointer with a 270 a few years back%uFFFD.With a Savage and Buds you can't go wrong%uFFFD

Bought this for the wife who is small framed. After seeing that Savage put the accu-trigger on this model, the decision was easy. Arrived fast, and in perfect condition. Although this is a package deal, I had reservations on the scope, and the base/rings. I decided not to gamble after seeing the scope has a built in bullet drop set-up. All those line are just too much for in experienced hunters. Swapped out the scope with a Nikon Prostaff I took off my muzzle loader, and replaced the base/ring with a DNZ Game Reaper (on all my scoped rifles, nothing is better) medium. Got it to the range, and true to Savage, accuracy out of the box rivals all high dollar rifle. 3 shot, one hole groups with Federal fusion, Hornady American Whitetail, and Federal power=shock blue box. All that was needed was me doing my part;
The only other downfall is that the stock is designed for open sights, line of sight. So a Bear-tooth comb raising kit, and problem resolved.
Great gun, great price. Just some custom fitting to the shooter is all that's needed.
