Buds is a;ways a pleasure to deal with but this is a product review so here is mine.
First the good. I like the idea behind this revolver and the .45lc and .410 are both very effective loads.
Its very manageable and fun to shoot. The rubber grip helps reduce the recoil.
Accuracy is pretty impressive with the .45lc at 25 yards. (that was as far as I shot it)
Looks intimidating with the huge cylinder and large bore.
Great price at buds.
The bad : Its a taurus revolver. It not only "still" has the famous taurus lock up , but the first 10 shots fired in double action were light strikes and didn't fire the rounds. After those it worked fine.
My other taurus is a .357 mag (669cp) I purchased back in the early 90's. And it unfortunately has the "lock up" in double action as well.
Not sure how I feel about the dull finish. It was wore shiny in one spot where it was rubbing in the box. Shiny finishes rub dull and the dull finish rubs shiny. LOL
My conclusion is the same as it always has been. Taurus is a fine gun for recreational shooting but I would not consider it to protect my life. The last thing you want in a moment of need is to have to open the cylinder and close it in order for it to fire. Come on taurus. Fix this problem already !!
If I was looking for a CHEAP gun for defense , I'd have to consider a hipoint before a revolver from taurus. Sorry but its the truth.
But to just have a nice plinker or range gun taurus is fine. Personally this purchase was for the venomous snakes while metal detecting the back woods so most shots would not be in double action.
I am giving this gun 4 stars because its what I was expecting ,but wanted to let others know that it does still have its flaws.
