Description: Centerfire Guns offers Taurus Model 809 Semi Automatic Handgun 9mm 4" Barrel 17 Rounds Black Checkered Polymer Frame Black Tenifer Finish. The Model 809 was derived from the successful "Taurus OSS" pistol we designed for the U.S. Armed Forces, but adds an external hammer that has been requested by so many of our valued customers. "STRIKE TWO" CAPABILITY - The Taurus 800 Series is now ready with "Strike Two" capability. If you have had a hard primer and the gun misfires, the 800 Series senses this and automatically gives you instant "Strike Two" capability by resetting the trigger for automatic double action re-strike. No need to do anything else, simply pull the trigger. Research indicates a 93% or better chance the round will fire on re-strike. When it fires, the 800 will automatically revert to single action by itself. If it falls on a dead primer, simply manually recharge and keep going.

Where do I start? This pistol gave me several issues. The first couple issues were FTF's (Failure to Feed) also a several Failure to go into Battery. Second problem is the magazine release. The button is very stiff to operate, I would have to use a large amount of strength in order to remove the magazine. The last issue was the magazines, the springs are very stiff and difficult to load. Taking all of this into consideration, I would advise future buyer to "BEWARE".

What can I say about Buds? All you ever see on here about them is nothing but great service and fast shipping. Well I can say that is so true, as for the gun it is great, a little big ,but I would rather have the feeling of a gun in my hand then one that is to small. Everything on it works great and for the money it was well worth it, I only paid 256.00 dollars for it and you will be hard pressed to find a good 9mm for that kind of money. I have bought many things on Buds site and will do so in the future, they are a great group of people to deal with and you can't beat Buds prices. Thanks Buds for everything. I very happy return customer.

After spending well over a month researching what would be my first privately owned firearm I selected, then ordered my PT 809 on July 2. I was also pleasantly surprised that just before I made my purchase the price came down! Even better! In spite of the long weekend, Bud's still got it to my FFL in record time! The case it came in is of high quality, however, it was missing the bore cleaning brush. I contacted Taurus and I received the brush about a week and a half later. The same night of receiving the pistol, I also discovered at the range one of the magazines was not properly advancing the rounds when full. Upon inspection, it had a crease in the front and the spring had an unusual twist in it. I sent it back to Taurus and just got the replacement magazine today (after contacting Taurus through their online customer chat. The customer service even told me they would send me a replacement "as a one time courtesy" to replace the magazine they already received almost a week earlier but did not "show" in their records. The new magazine is of far higher quality than both of the magazines I got with the gun. The one I still have from the kit rattles around in the grip, but the replacement seats nice and stable. Drawbacks with the Taurus PT 800 series is that holsters which would fit the pistol are very limited in availability and styles, while night sights seem not to exist. The gun does fire and operate just as advertised, so overall, I am glad with my purchase.

Just shot this for the first time today and it shoots flawlessly. It is my 9MM that I've owned and of course I was drawn to Bud's very low price on this, but reading all the reviews and watching the videos online, this gun sounded like a great bargain. Indeed it was! Feels like a gun in your hand. Well constructed and low recoil is a plus. Very pleased with this purchase!
