Taurus Blemished Judge Tracker 410/45 Long Colt Revolver - Blue/Black, 6.5" Barrel, 5 Rounds, Polymer Grips, Night Sights

I purchased this pistol just because it seemed like it would be fun for recreational plinking, but as it turns out it is probably my most used firearm next to my hunting shotguns. Everyone in the family enjoys shooting this gun both with 45LC and 410 shot. It kicks more when shooting 410 shot shells than with the 45LC of any load type and really kicks the most when shooting personal defense rounds. However, recoil is definitely manageable by everyone. We often carry around when water moccasins are a nuisance and it is much less cumbersome than a full-sized shotgun for that purpose. For camping and hunting this is now my first choice for personal defense because it is easy to use, reliable and effective. It has never had any issues of any kind since i purchased it and while the fit and finish is not the same as the Smith and Wesson Governor it is definitely a stout well-made gun and reasonably priced.

The Judge was shipped in good time to my local FFL. I checked it out real good before taking it in transfer... it looked good to me especially for a blemished, refurbished revolver. It seemed to function properly... tight lock-up with no detectible problems, so I payed the transfer and took it home, cleaned it and took it out to my backyard shooting range. Loaded it up with Winchester PDX1 .410 Defender Ammo (3 Plated Disc Projectiles and 12 Plated BBs per shell) and fired 5 times flawlessly at a human torso target at 7 yards... every shot had close groups (approx. 4-5" spreads) of the copper plated disc projectiles in the neck and chest/gut. The BBs were sporadic ON the paper. Fired the next 5 shells from 12 yards with the larger plated disc projectile groups (approx. 6-8" spreads) all in the torso with not many BBs on the target as I expected at longer range. This long barrel Judge is more than a close range handgun like the shorter barrel models... it's one heck of a potentially lethal handgun at longer handgun ranges with more effective target coverage... real hard to miss a threat. We have coyotes close by and pop up randomly, so I will carry this Judge when I'm taking my dog out at night (a 50 lbs. Female Black German Shepherd) on a long leash. A blinding light and this Judge should be a great deterrent if a bold coyote or other threat comes around. Excellent weapon at a great price!

Description said "blemished", but it was difficult to find, some discoloration on trigger and hammer, maybe some tiny black touch-up paint. BUT, the important thing, just fired it first time today and was more than pleased. Both the .410 and .45LC were very accurate, way more than I was expecting. To get 20 rounds each of both calibers within the puny 1ft range targets at 30 feet was pretty good I thought, and I can't call myself a great shooter to begin with...
