The Taurus PT111 G2, Stainless slide, poly frame, three dot sights, manual safety, two 12 round magazines. I got this on sale to conceal carry replacing a Titanium model I retired to the safe, which was one of two different guns I alternate. I have not fired it so cannot give it a five but judging on the reviews and my past experiences it shouldn't be a problem. I'll cover what I know about it. Low cost gun so there are corners cut. Plastic sights with what looks like painted dots. Probably not very durable. Plastic guide rod. Blued safety and slide release levers. Gloss blued magazines. Stainless barrel. Long trigger travel but pretty good let off/pull. I have large hands and the gun fits me well but probably better with medium sized hands. Grip frame has rough texture all around for a positive hold. Slide has a nice even satin finish. Overall, and since I have not shot it, I'd still give it a four out of five for what you get versus the low price. I've had pretty good luck with Taurus in the past.

A gift for my daughter who recently acquired her CCW. I could not have chosen a better handgun for the price. She ran 100 rounds of reman 115G through it today, not one single hiccup. The trigger is crisp, very light on the pull and the slide is fairly easy to rack for a woman with small hands. The finish and fit is quite impressive as I did not know what to expect upon receipt. I highly recommend watching Hickock 45's review of the gun. He was even surprised at the quality. You can't go wrong...and of course, you cannot ever go wrong with Buds.

In all fairness, I admittedly have not had good experiences with Taurus firearms in the past, and I was reluctant to purchase this weapon. However, the many positive reviews I read here and saw on Youtube convinced me to get this gun. On first handling, right out of the box, I noticed the quality of the machining and design. The pistol feels very good in my medium sized hands, somewhere in between your typical double stack and thin single stack frames. It's slim, compact design is perfect for concealed carry. The manual safety not only prevents the trigger from being pulled, but also locks the slide to keep it from cycling/loading a round. The trigger pull has a long take up, but a short, smooth and crisp 6 pound break - unbelievable for a factory double action. What's really impressive is the amazingly short reset, making fast, accurate follow up shots and double taps a breeze. The only negative I encountered was around 10 failure to feeds out of the initial 150 rounds through the gun, which I attributed to an unpolished chamber (the feed ramp is polished though). For this reason I couldn't give the gun 5 stars. I'm sure this would have smoothed out after 300-500 break in rounds, but I'm spoiled by my Glocks and M&P's that never need a break in period. So I grabbed my Dremel and polished the chamber to a mirror finish, took all of two minutes. The next 150 rounds cycled flawlessly. All in all, this is a great value, and I'm very happy with this purchase.

Purchased this Taurus at a great price..took it to the range and put 125 rounds through it with only one failure to load but that was a ammunition defect. I was pleased with its first test. I will get more give it more range time and see if it continues to perform well. For $216 when I bought it, I got a steal!
