Springfield Armory 1911 Single .45 ACP 5 7+1 Cocobolo Grip Stainless St - 5" Barrel, 7+1 Rounds

Expensive gun but this is a case of you get what you pay for. Beautiful, accurate, functioning thru the first couple hundred rounds flawlessly.

Third time must be the charm. This springfield arrived in good condition. The fit and finish were good, nice clear springfield insignia marking on the slide. After a good cleaning and lubing it was off to the range. 1911's need at least a 500 round break in before the action loosens up and starts working good. I was pleased to experience zero stove piping, fail to fires or fail to ejects and the sights were almost on out of the box.

Super tight. Requires break in. Failed to cycle after the first 75 rounds due to carbon on slide. Cleaned and hand cycled a few hundred times. It now cycles perfectly and is super accurate. Great trigger, easily groups under 2 inches freehand at 30 feet. Fit and finish are excellent. I wanted a reasonably priced quality 1911 for target shooting and this pistol fits the bill perfectly.

This is my first 1911 but I've been buying from Buds since 2006, Buds is great!!! This pistol arrived in the nice plastic box with 2 stainless mags and honestly it looks gorgeous. Extremely well made, no slop anywhere. It shoots way more accurately than I do and I like the sights on it, the fiber optic front sight is red but they include other colors with it if you want to change. I have shot a few boxes of ammo thru this pistol and it has been flawless, no jams or hiccups. The trigger was great out the box but it's already lightening up a little with use, I don't feel the need to change it. I was initially going to buy the stainless GI version, I went for this one instead to get better sights, extended beavertail and to me a better trigger. I went to a few local gun shops where every store advised me to get a Springfield. After handling this and the GI I did feel this trigger was better and I wanted the upgrades. I always try to support my local gun shops but Buds was way cheaper and I know I can trust them. Very happy

I received the gun today. I assumed the fit would be a bit loose as it is not the top of the line Springfield. But I was honestly surprised. The Barrel-to-Fame fit was tighter than most high dollar hand guns. The Barrel Bushing-to-Barrel fit is suburb with absolutely no wiggle at all. The trigger broke at 4lb 4oz with my Lyman Pull Gauge. Although the trigger pull was a bit gritty and rough. I was able to polish the sear and adjust the sear spring thus lowering the pull to just under 3lbs and the grittiness disappeared. The Trigger broke like glass. For the money this gun is worth every cent! If you are looking for one of the best fitting hand guns at a price that most of us can afford, this is the gun. Not to mention the gun shot at less than 3" at 25 yards with PMC Hard Ball ammo. I would assume that with Match Ammo it will do Much better. The actual reason I bought this gun was to make it into a .45 Super. In order to do that you must have a tight, tight gun that will take the .45 super or 450 SMC ammo. I replaced the recoil spring with a 26 lb recoil spring, changed the Mainspring to a 28 lb spring. Replace the trigger spring to an extra power spring and finally replacing the trigger firing pin stop to a flat trigger firing pin stop. Yes, it shots like a .41 Mag but in an auto gun. The gun performed superbly with all the new replacements and though it has some recoil. The gun performed flawlessly!

I put a 150 rounds through it so far with no malfunctions.Found gun to be very accurate and wouldnt hesitate to recomend it to anybody looking for a 1911.The only complaint I have which wont apply to everone is the rear sight is hard to see at a indoor range.It might also be me as my eye sight isnt what it use to be.

This pistol was everything I wanted and then more. After drooling over 1911s of all kind over the last few months, I decided on this one and couldn’t be happier. I fed it 100 rounds of Winchester white box 230 gr and I never wanted it to end. Flawless stainless, beautiful wood grips, great sights and a PERFECT TRIGGER! If you’ve been thinking about it, just do it. You will not find a better price for this package and Buds will have it at your FFL before you can change your mind.
