Two questions in one. First off, what is the weight on the mainspring? I know the recoil spring is 18.5 lbs but it doesn't mention mainspring and I'll be shooting the full power stuff pretty often. Secondly, is the guide rod a single piece or is it a two piece full length?

William the "Guide Rod" is a Two Piece Full Length design. Since I can not find published info on the Mainspring, I would ask Kimber directly at Customer Service Toll-Free: (888) 243-4522 --- Hours: M–F, 9:30 a.m.– 6 p.m. Eastern Time. Hi William, It is a Full-length guide rod. It will handle heavy loads but I haven't been able to find the mainspring weight.

Nice 1911, fit and machine work is nice and clean as expected with Kimber. Fired both Ball and Hollow point ammo with no issues. I have tried several different magazines from different makers and they worked fine so far. Like everything else they are getting over priced...bummer....

I bought this on layaway and once I got it I immediately replaced the factory recoil and mainspring and added a EGW flat firing pin stop. Those changes have made this feed hotter and stronger 10mm really really well. Probably one of my favorite guns now after a few range trips.

Received the pistol in about a week and a half. It locked open with rounds in the mag, but Kimber sent me a new slide stop in just a few days and that cured the problem. Getting a few misfeeds, but less as the gun breaks in. Overall fit and finish are good, although the rear sight is slightly off center. Not flawless like my Custom II .45, but still pretty decent. I expected a little more for this kind of money, though.
