Very decent rifle for the price point. More of a target/plinking platform.

Great rifle. No problems with several different types of 22 magnum ammo. Put a Nikon rimfire BDC on it and it's about all you could want in a plinker/varmint gun at 50-100 yards. This would be a great first rifle to get the youngsters learning on too as the composite stock keeps it light enough for just about anyone to shoulder for extended periods of time. Trigger is tight and responsive, no slush feeling to it. Bolt is solid and slides easily, would advise buying high scope rings like I did to keep your bolt clear of most scopes. Savage makes a great rifle, I've got one of their 30-06's for bucks and now a 22Mag for smaller less desirable critters.

I bought this rifle for a relatively cheap rifle to leave in my UTV on the farm. I noticed at once that it had a nearly perfect trigger pull for a hunting gun. I mounted a cheap 4x scope on the rifle and took it to a bench rest. Then I got the real surprise. This gun will shoot! It did good with Winchester 40 gr. hollow point but when I shot Hornady 30 gr. V Max I got a 5 shot .64" group at 100 yards and at 50 the group was .25". I could not be happier with this rifle. My only regret is that now I need to put a better scope on this rifle to do it justice.
