Out of the box this rifle is easy to sight in, and does not take long to make long range shots. The muzzle brake makes a BIG difference when shooting, and makes this gun fun to shoot. At an affordable price, this is a great rifle.

It's not a terrible rifle, it isn't a $600 rifle, but it isn't terrible. The stock is flimsy, like more flimsy than the standard Patriot models. The bedding is non existent, it's two tiny plastic tabs. The majority of content online about this rifle is complaints about those tabs breaking after 5-10 rounds. So far I have 33 rounds through the rifle, they haven't broken. One of them does appear to be in the process of breaking though. Shooting, is a lot less painful than one would expect from a 300 Winchester magnum, that muzzle break is a literal life saver. It isn't super accurate, but it's capable of holding a half inch group at least at 50 yards. I don't know about 100, I never finished sighting it in at 50. That scope was so unbelievably off, that I had to have a stranger come shoot the rifle just to make sure it wasn't me. I had to adjust it A FOOT RIGHT. Straight out of the box it was an entire foot, twelve inches off center at 50 yards. Overall feelings, this is a good rifle, if it had a $399 price tag. It is in no way, shape or form worth the $610 I paid. I do not recommend this rifle, for $610 you can get a far superior rifle to this one. Mossberg really dropped the ball with the Patriot Night Train.

I purchased this rifle to go hunting in Wyoming the fall of 2017. I was happy with the packaging and contents, as it came as described. However, I had some trouble sighting it in. The rifle, from a benched position, had large groups up to 5-10 inches at 100 yards with different ammo. I finally landed on Hornady Whitetail ammo, and it shit much better, with some rounds even touching the same point of impact at 100 yards. No misfires or jams throughout my testing or hunting, and I was able to drop a Pronghorn at 250 yards with one shot. It also took a Mule Deer. The scope leaves things to be desired, as it produced sun glare when viewed in the general direction of the sun, even with the sun visor extension. Also, the clarity really drops at higher magnification. Although it is mounted rather high, the pad insert for the cheek riser do help the shooter to achieve a desired position. I was impressed with the muzzle break and how it really reduced the recoil. I was shooting it along with my Remington 260, and the recoil almost felt the same. And the noise was not a bother to me. Overall, I am satisfied with the gun, although have some reservations with the grouping of various ammo. The price for the accessories is why I chose this package.

Gun shoots nice. I felt a little creep in the trigger, but have yet to adjust it from the factory setting. The thing I was amazed with was how well the gun manages the recoil. The felt recoil (to me) was less than my 30-30. Fit and finish is on par for a $600 gun. The action is a little sloppy but the lock up is nice and tight. The scope will work for me.. It's huge! But as long as it holds zero, I'm not a professional, nor can I humanely take an animal at 1000m, so ditto. Personally, I strongly recommend this gun. Just double check all scope hardware upon arrival. I can't wait to update on a 300m group size with hand loads. Holding around an inch with factory ammo at 100m right now.

Good looking gun. Shipped fast and came as described. The scope does leave a bit to be desired but it does the job. The one complaint I have about the gun is the sloppiness of the bolt action, even though the actual bolt is really nice. Its just too much play in it for my liking but its holding less than 2 inches at 500 yards with Remington Core Lokt ammo so i think i can let that slide.
