For $1400 I was not expecting the rifle to be in the condition it’s in. Furniture is trashed. Handguard loose and rattles. Got it today. Totally regret the purchase.

Very pleased with the PTR91 GI I received. Furniture color all matched and so far everything works great out of the box. Eats everything I’ve tried from Winchester M80, PMC X-Tac 7.62, Magtech 308 Win and Prvi 308 Win with no problems yet. Plenty accurate for me ringing steel at 100 yrds with iron sights. I’d buy this again in a heartbeat. Screams classic G3A3 and looks fantastic. The build quality is solid. I do not consider these clones of the HK91. It holds its own as a clone of the original HK G3 (G3A3) and this version with the gray finish and green furniture belongs in your collection.

Very nice firearm and fun to shoot. Worked great out of the box after cleaning and lube of course. Sights are a little different, and take a little getting used to. Well worth it.

Just received my PTR GI rifle. Buds was a dream to deal with as usual. They had one left and I was able to snatch it up. The transaction was flawless, pricing was the best around, and shipping was fast. The rifle is well made and built like a tank. I also have an original HK 91 and the PTR is true to the design and quality of the original. They did change the mag release to a paddle type while retaining the button as well. When I opened the box to examine the rifle everything was perfect except for the magazine that it came with. When you spend over a grand for a rifle I do not expect to get a dented, scratched, and filthy magazine. With near new surplus mags going for under $ 5.00 it is embarrassing to get a piece of junk mag with it. My only other gripe was the rear sight requires a special tool to adjust. In addition to a decent mag, I would have liked to see them include the tool. I took the PTR and 300 rounds out to the desert this morning to give it a go. In the first 40 rounds I had 3 FTF with PMC ammo. They went off on the 2nd try. After the first 2 mags the rifle just kept going. I shot PMC, PPU, reloads, and old tracers. No jams or misfeeds. The rifle has the usual HK style recoil. A soft slow push with a reverse forward recoil when the massive BCG fly's forward. It combines to give you a real controllable rapid fire. On slow fire the rifle printed very tight groups, centered but 5 inches low. As I did not have the sight tool I just dialed the drum to the 4 setting and it bounced the steel all day. It is a robust and accurate rifle that will last 2 lifetimes. It feeds ALL ammo regardless of condition. The only down side is until you really oil it up and wear in the BCG, the act of charging the rifle is not for the faint. It takes a lot of pull to get it back. A nice trick to be able to break it in without breaking your arm is to count your shots. On the 19th round, pull the mag and replace with a full one. That way you can cycle hundreds of round to break in but only have to fight the bolt once a day. Cleaning if you are an AR guy is going to be a learning curve. Just be patient and use You Tube if needed. Over all this is one of my favorite purchases and Buds will always be my place.

So far so good, beautiful finish and overall quality. No loose parts, everything fits together just right. Took it out and fired 20 soft point rounds of wolf gold with no issues whatsoever. Dead on out of the box

Excellent fit and finish. It's a 2017 made rifle. Beautiful machine work and built like a tank. Low recoil and bolt gap has stayed at .016 after 200 round break in the book recommends. It started at .017 when I bought it. The rear sight assembly is surplus and was a little dinged from military use. PTR promptly fedex'd a new assembly to me without question. Rifle shoots 2 moa and was perfectly sighted in. Just an excellent gun worth the extra cost over the C308 in my opinion. I added wide handguards as these slim ones heat up really fast.

Had a CAI C308 in the cart. Switched to the PTR 91. Love it. Picked up 20 old steel CETME mags and 300 rounds of TULA .308 and it ran like a champ. Reasonably accurate with bottom of the barrel ammo and aging eyes. Highly recommend.
