HATFIELD 20 Hatfield SAS Semi-Automatic 20 Gauge 28" 3" Walnut Stock Black High Gloss The Hatfield SAS 20 is a semi-automatic 20 ga. shotgun featuring a walnut buttstock and forend with deluxe checkering and a recoil absorbing 0.5" ventilated rubber recoil pad. The SAS operating system is a unique blend of gas and inertia, where a gas piston moves only one inch to kick the bolt rearward and start the bolts inertia travel through the operating cycle; fewer moving parts provides higher dependability. The SAS gas/inertia system operates dependably with most commercially available 2.75" and 3" shells. The gas/inertia action is housed inside a receiver machined from 7075 aluminum finished in a high gloss black anodizing. The SAS 28" barrel is chambered for both 2.75" and 3" shells and features a full length ventilated rib and screw-in chokes; three chokes (F, Mod, IC) are included. The barrel finish is high gloss black chrome to match the receiver. Magazine capacity is 4+1 rounds, but with a magazine plug included to limit the capacity to 2+1 rounds. Total weight is approximately 7 lbs. Hello, This gun came well packaged, the wood was nice looking from the factory, Upon inspecting, not perfect from maybe mishandling , The barrel bluing is nice and perfect, The stamped steel has a less desirable finish, some dull spots, not a complete high gloss shine, I used a ceramic spray coating to polish, Helped some what, I kept the gun, I don't think its used maybe refurbished, Needs to be broken in to cycle better, It's not perfect, but cheap price, and quality, Right now high brass cycles flawlessly, not so much low brass

The gun looks great. But the forearm had cracked and had to be replaced also jams a lot. I can't advise anyone to buy

When I saw the price of this shotgun I did not believe it was a good gun. However, I read the reviews and all were very positive with few negative. The Youtube videos are correct with this gun, you have to run a couple boxes of shells through it. After the gun performs great. I have not shot it that much due to the bad winter, but I believe it will not let me down.

Picked up my new Hatfield SAS 20 gauge last Wednesday. Took it immediately to the range to assemble the gun and test fire. Re. assembly, fitment esthetics: Fitment of wood to metal was Remington 870 Express quality or better. Wood was checked and quasi-interesting. I took with me approximately 50 assorted 20 guage shells from Winchester deer slugs to assorted very old skeet loads. After removing magazine capacity restrictions, I loaded 5 rounds and rapid fired every shell I had. Gun performed flawlessly; no jams. Only negative is gun is 7 pounds, plus or minus; seems heavy to carry all day over my dog.

i bought this gun last fall i will say for the money its been a decent buy it does not like low brass shells but have not had any issues with high brass over all its a good buy...

Brought this gun and 4 box’s off shells nice for the money but would not recommend too a friend want shoot 1 out of 5 don’t eject shells right either

Fast delivery and in good condition at my dealer. It does not like low brass ammo "trap loads" as of yet but I haven't had a chance to break it in. High brass loads feed and eject very well. For a budget gun it is finished better than I expected. You should not expect a showpiece but for the money its O.K.

Well, you get what you pay for with this gun. It had thick grease on the metal parts that i cleaned and oiled with synthetic lube. Assembly/break-down istructions aren't very good, but it's from outside the country, so somewhat expected. If you are not very mechanically weapons minded, maybe look for a video on it. Chokes included and wood parts are cheap and thin, but the rest of the gun seems to be of decent quality. I bought an extended turkey choke, these take the Benelli Mobil/Beretta type with threads towards end of barrel. It shoots really good with high brass, but only ejects maybe 1 of 5 short brass shells. I've only shot maybe 40 or so, so hopefully it will function better after full break-in. The 12 guage comes with plugs for high and low brass, 20 does not. I would another for the $200-$250 but if it goes up much more just buy a decent pump and forget it or go to a better automatic. Sequencing on de-cocker and bolt release are funky, ...no good instructions.
