Super light yet sturdy feel. Extremely accurate with brass ball 230 grn. Zero issues after a 250 round pack. Night sights glow bright at night. I am pleased with the purchase on all levels.

I purchased this pistol for several reasons. As a longtime user of 1911 style pistols, my experience was limited to all steel, full size .45's and 10mm's made by the company that pioneered the 1911. I was in the market for a Commander size, alloy frame version when I came upon this Ruger. Although I knew Ruger made quality firearms, I never really considered a Ruger 1911 until I learned more about this pistol. It is a Commander size, alloy frame like I wanted, but it also comes fitted with genuine Novak/Trijicon night sights, a titanium feed ramp insert to prevent damage from hollow points, a frame integrated (not a separate part) plunger tube and a beautiful black nitride finish. These features are not available right out of the box from ANY other big name brand. These features, and Ruger's reputation, are what sold me on this pistol. The fit and finish are excellent, it is quite a handsome pistol, but the proof is in the shooting. I have taken it to the range only one time after the initial cleaning and lubrication and fired a total of 350 rounds. !00 each of Winchester and Remington UMC 230 FMJ, 50 Speer Gold Dot 230gr, 50 Gold Dot 200 gr+P, and 50 Federal Tactical 230gr +P. There was no interim cleaning, and the temperature ranged from 26F to 30F. The pistol's function was flawless with all the various ammo types, and the accuracy with each was excellent. This pistol leaves you wanting for nothing, it has it all, right out of the box for a very reasonable price. Only had this gun for a few weeks now but I’ve put 150 rounds through it and had no jams or any types of failures. I wasn’t shooting high quality ammo either, so I’m sure with good ammo it would be even better. The grips are very nice and it feels good in your hand. Love the lightweight commander size. It seems to be handier than a full size 1911. Night sights are a great addition as well. Overall seems like a very well made gun and is a quality piece.

Ruger makes a nice 1911. Very pleased with the fit and finish. I got a Night Watchman. I like the satin black finish. I think more should be finished in black. The gun operates flawlessly so far.
