Springfield Armory XDS 9mm 4" Duo-tone Essentials Pkg - 4" Barrel, 8+1 Rounds

Been a while since I got this delivered to my FFL. It is my 2nd SA I own. The gun works perfectly and my only complaint is should have ordered the shorter one. And also it was the time that SA offered free magazines after you sent them invoice. I did have a few FTE, and I know it was me. I fired multiple brands, FMJ and Hollow Points, all fired no problem. I did change the front site from red to green.

This is a great carry gun! Also, it is very accurate. Happy I made this purchase would defiantly recommend!!

It took almost two weeks to get here so I guess it’s not that bad but man when this gun came in I was so happy, this was my first gun that I had ever actually purchased myself. My dad and I did a lot of research and went into gun shops multiple times for me to hold them and find out which one felt comfortable. When I bought this gun I wasn’t sure if I made the right choice with buying the 4” barrel vs. the 3.3” barrel but now after I’ve got about 30 rounds through it (I need to put more through it) I am very happy that I went with the 4” barrel. I was wondering if the grenade style grip was going to be uncomfortable while shooting but it’s not at all, it holds your hand well and you can’t even tell while shooting. I love that it comes stock with the sights it has on it. I love that I chose a single stack gun because it fits my hand very well. I would have been very upset if it did not come with an extended magazine so I could fit my pinky on the gun but it did come with one of each so I was very happy. The color choice took me a very long time to decide on but now I know without a doubt that I like this duo tone stainless slide color choice the most. I wish it would have came with a holster like my dads P320 did but oh well. It’s very accurate, at 12 yards I doubled holed and 3rd round was 1/4” away from the double hole (pretty proud of myself for that). Well to wrap this up it is an overall very very good gun for target shooting or conceal and carry which I plan to do. Would definitely buy again. Thanks Buds for the nice and easy transfer.

Goldilocks- not too big and not too small. My preferred carry pistol when small size is not required and extra weight is not needed. I have been using it lately to shoot the heads off of copperhead snakes at a range of 7 to 8 feet. You are basically shooting a nickel and I was not sure it would do it but I have been 2 for 2. Small quirk- it has cycled all ammo but it is hard to open the slide with ARX ammo-probably engaging the rifling.

Bought this 18 months ago. Have probably run 800 rounds through it, no failure to feed or eject, except once I put some inexpensive steel casing ammo in it just to "test it". It didn't like that steel casing, but I'd never have that in there as a carry piece anyway, only at the range. It's a nice size for most carry. I'd recommend it to anyone.........

I like everything about this handgun from looks to function. The only downside I have found was a very heavy trigger pull.

Definitely one of my favorite firearms at the time to hit the range. Buds delivered this to my FFL dealer on lighting speed and definitely a great price.

Pistol has a cosmetic blem on both sides of the frame (looks like a scratch, but goes underneath the lettering on the frame -- had to have occurred during the molding process). Not enough for me to refuse the gun, but enough to register as a bit of a disappointment, especially considering the superb quality of the other Springfield products I've owned -- and also enough to rate an otherwise 5-star product as a "3". Should have been sold as a cosmetic blem, IMO.

I had a Springfield XDm and that is a good handgun. It shoots great and no problem at all. I decide to get the XDs as a spare handgun but I should inspect the gun VERY CAREFULLY before doing transfer. This XDs has a hair line crack in the lower near trigger guard, from right to left. I am afraid the lower will explode if I fire this handgun. I guess I'll have to deal with Springfield with this issue. Bud's Gun shop ship fast though
