  This H&R shotgun is crafted in China by Qiqihar Hawk Industries Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China North Industries Corporation. Commonly referred to as Norinco, most gun fanciers know China North Industries as a major producer of inexpensive SKS and AK-pattern rifles. Hawk confines itself to making shotguns, including a slew of clones of the classic Remington 870 sold under the H&R name. Oh, and H&R is an affiliate of Remington, which is part of the Freedom Group, which is owned by Cerberus Capital Management.

• Q: My gun arrived and a problem was evident being that it only held 3 rounds instead of 5. I live in Western New York where the Law is that tube-fed manually operated shotguns don't have a capacity limit. I don't hunt, so I shouldn't be restricted to the waterfowl hunting limit of 3 rounds. Why wasn't I notified of this change and what can I do to restore the gun's capacity?

  Have you tried taking the cap off of the magazine tube to see if there is a plug/rod inside to reduce capacity? It is quite common for guns to come with this as many states limit hunting shotguns to 3rds. Just unscrew the round cap at the front carefully... It may be under spring pressure.
