John, Absolutely. Since the 357 Sig is a 40 S&W Case necked down to 9mm, only a barrel change is required. Sig has discontinued the (Sig Sauer P226 9mm Caliber X-Change Kit) but you may find one in the "For Sale" section at some SIG Forums or on large gun sites like (6)un Broker, (6)uns America and Armslist as hard to find firearms and accessories show up for sale by private individuals and small shops. Just replace (6) with G.

John - it can be converted, by purchasing the necessary parts ... Not sure it would be economically beneficial to do so. Best solution, as always, is buy another gun! :-)

John, yes it can - to go to 357 SIG requires only a new barrel as the bolt face is the same for both cartridges. To 9mm requires a barrel , slide and magazines but Sig does sell exchange kits that include just the necessary parts. This Sig 226 in .40 caliber and E2 grip is an absolute pleasure. My hands are large, but my fingers are short. The reduced dimensions and geometry of the E2 treatment allow me to operate this pistol correctly. I shopped for this pistol a long time in gun stores, and it was just plain not available there or thru their channels. Once I found it at Bud's, I ordered it and am completely pleased.

This gun is very accurate. No reliability issues, and I tested with a variety of FMJ and JHP. The only issue I have is I do not care for Sig grips. However, Hogue is an easy after-market option and improved the feel of the gun.

Such an amazing firearm. This is the best shooting handgun that I own and, I have several high quality firearms. If you are looking for a lifetime firearm then, look no further. This is an excellent weapon that is worth every penny.

I'm very happy with this gun. It was expensive, relative to others, but the quality shows. It took a while to get it. 8 days to get it in the mail, 2 days to ship, and 1 day to process it at the FFL.

Very pleased with myE26R-40- P226 SIG SAUER pistol. Got to the range at last and ran 150 rounds of 3 kinds of 165 grain ammo through the gun with no problems at all.This the one with a rail and i was surprised at the accuracy . It is made for a laser but you won't need it in the day time , Just a great shootin sig 226 like the rest of them.Speer a little better than the other two brands but all pretty tight pattern at 20 yards.

This is my second purchase from Bud's and this is my first handgun purchase. Let me start by saying that I could not be happier with the service I have received from Bud's, my P226 arrived very quickly at my FFL. Like the other review stated, despite what the description says, mine DID come with TWO magazines, which was a nice surprise. Also, the one I received has the Enhanced one piece grips on it, not the standard grips as shown in the picture. I absolutely LOVE my P226, it feels like it was made for my hand. Sure there are other cheaper choices out there but once I held a P226 for the first time, I didnt want anything else. To me, it's worth the extra money and was worth saving up for. Thanks Bud's!!

Excellent quality.Trigger has a long pull but breaks very crisply at the advertised 4 lbs in single action. The night sights are very bright and despite Bud's warning the gun came with two magazines. First time at the range, I put 200 rounds through it without a single hitch. Once I got used to the trigger, it was very accurate. Overall, a great gun. The only negative is that the pistol is not two tone as shown in the picture and described in the text. Happy with the purchase anyway.
