For decades, Ruger Mini-14 Tactical rifles have been the choice for personal defense. Their short barrels and overall short length make them favorites in any application where maneuverability and ease of handling are priorities. Specifically designed for mounting today's scopes or other optical sighting systems, these rifles include a side ejection to clear the top mounted scope, and a patented recoil buffer which protects the scope from damage or shifting the point of impact as the semi-automatic action cycles. This Mini-14 is chambered in 300 AAC Blackout and has a 20+1 capacity. It has integral sling swivels and a simple, rugged Garand style breechbolt locking system with a fixed piston gas system and self cleaning, moving gas cylinder. It features an improved receiver with rounded contours, protected blade front sight and adjustable ghost ring aperture rear sight. It has a compact, hammer forged 16.12" barrel with flash suppressor.

I had been debating getting a 300 black Mini 14 for years. I finally did and man am I glad I did. I ditched the plastic stock and re-stocked it in a wooden stock and it's much better IMHO. I wish I hadn't waited so long to buy one.

Buds=good service normally
Gun=Awesome! I have two older mini 14s in 223, this is my third new one because I like them so much. The tactical with folding stock would skip if I had to do over. This one 300 BLK is really fun and has a thicker barrel than even the mini 30 which is kinda weird because this is also 30 cal. I shot a squirrel out of a tree at 50 yds with a scope with this rifle and it was dead on. Surprisingly the squirrel was still alive I got him thru the hind leg. Also the silencerco octane 45k works well with this gun. It is my deer rifle now and I am quite happy with it. I will say that the older minis are made better as far as stock and fitment are concerned but the newer ones have better barrels I have read. I am thinking of Frankenstein mini if possible.

I really like this gun. It is fun to shoot, and functions very well. It also has the look and feel of a gun.

Really like the way this rifle shoots. It's light, comfortable and accurate. Only thing I'd change is the rear sight as it's a little odd to adjust and the peep sight is a little small. Other than that, nice 30 cal.

I've enjoyed shooting the Ruger Mini 14 for many years. I've previously owned 2 others which ended up being traded off for one thing or the other. Although I like shooting the Mini, I have never been a real fan of the .223 / 5.56mm round. I have read considerable about the .300 Blackout and have always shot .30 rifles, 30-06, .308, .30 carbine. The .300 blk round is to me a much better option. The Mini 14 comes to its own with this introduction. It's carbine length is and always has been great for a short to medium range rifle. The combination with the .300 blk round gives me what I have wanted for a long time. I took this rifle to the range the day after I picked up from the LGS. A 66 year old coot was able to shoot 3 shot groups of under two inches at 30 yards, standing and off hand. For what I was wanting, it hard to improve on, and I have a good, small camp gun that is hard hitting and reliable.

Good gun. Check all your connections before going to the range. 75 feet = 6 inch group.

Perfect for hog hunting the Ruger 300 blackout is my choice. I can't rave enough about Buds Gun Shop and my FFL. They made this purchase so easy. Thanks. I will continue to be a customer.

Like this rifle. It's a little hard to shoot suppressed as there's a lot of blow back in your face. I've tried it with both my Silencerco Osprey 45 can and my Silencerco Hybrid. Same blow back. And it doesn't like shooting subsonic without a can as it will not always cycle (cycles about 60% of the time with subs). I feel certain I can eventually create a subsonic handload that won't have so much residual powder blowing into my face, but that will take time to figure out. But shooting supersonic rounds is a dream with this rifle. Accurate, pointable and dependable. Haven't had a single malfunction while running supersonic rounds. Easy to disassemble and clean and tons of aftermarket support for the Mini-14 generally. The only minor problem I've had is that the heat shield lip that fits under the gas block has partially broken. It still fits and holds on, but about half of it has broken off. But Ruger customer service is pretty good in my experience. On the whole, I recommend this rifle.

Fun little gun! I took it to the range this evening and ran 50 rounds of 150 grain soft points and 20 rounds of 165 grain soft points through it. I sighted the rifle in at 50 yards with a 3x9-40 scope. I shot a few one inch groups with it off of a sand bag. I then went out to 100 yards and consistently hit my 8" steel target with it. I took the scope off and fired ten rounds at the steel target with the iron sights. I hit the target 3 out of 10 times with the sights set as they came on the gun and not nearly enough light. Loading the magazines into the rifle takes a little practice compared to an AR. It took me a few tries to get the hang of hooking and swinging them into place. After I took the scope off I could look into the action while inserting the magazine and see what I was doing. Overall I had a very pleasant experience with the rifle. I just wish I'd have gotten off work earlier as I brought home far more ammo than I shot.
