I was very pleasantly surprised with this gun. I've never been a big fan of the Taurus brand, but I've shot a handful of 1911s over the years - and the PT-1911 stands up with the best of 'em. The features that come standard on this gun tend to only come as either after-market customizations of similarly priced 1911s, or standard on high-end guns that cost easily 2x the price. Only complaint I have is I wish it came with wood grips, but really the plastic isn't so bad - and it's just a matter of personal preference on my part. I had a bit of a problem feeding JHPs early on, but by the time I had a couple hundred rounds through it and the feed ramp smoothed out a bit more - that went away. Everything's built to a good tolerance without being too tight and over-engineered and picky like a Kimber (great guns but they are super fussy early on).
I couldn't have a more positive opinion of this piece, and my opinion of Taurus as a whole went up a couple notches as a result. It's not just a good gun for the price - it's a good gun period. The price just makes it that much nicer.

First .45 and 1911. Used it in NRA Personal Defense class and it was flawless. Works well with Chip McCormick 10rd mags for a little extra capacity

I just started purchasing and using guns this year. I have a 22, 380, and 9MM. I just added this 1911 to my collection. Surprisingly this is the most accurate gun of the bunch. I assumed that the larger caliber would be harder to handle but I was wrong. I had more fun with this one than the others when I took it to the range for the first time yesterday.
It was my first purchase from Bud's. The process was flawless. I actually recieved the call from my FFL dealer within a couple of days and Bud's was sending out constant status updates (a great thing).
I would buy again from Bud's and I am impressed with the quality of the Taurus at such and inexpensive price. Glad I was able to get the 75 dollar rebate from Taurus. Nice Christmas present to myself.

This is my first 45acp and first 1911. I have to say was a little nervous about buying a Taurus. But after receiving it and giving a complete disassemble and cleaning, which is very much a necessity as it was covered in a protective grease. The fit a finish was very nice. First range trip fired 300 rounds without a hiccup. Took home a cleaned went back to range two days later and fired another 400 rounds without a problem. The gun is very accurate, more so then I thought it would be. Buds was great dealing with, got to give them 5 stars. Would I buy another gun from Buds yes! As I have already have ordered another.

This is absoultely the best value in a gun of ANY gun 1911 or not. I have a High Standard .45, a Colt, and a Kimber all in the 1911 model and this gun is far superior to all of them as far as accuracy. None of them have more than 2000 rounds, so I can't speak on endurance. The finish is second to none with great machine work. A++

First off, this is my first 1911 and first .45 auto. I own several Taurus handguns and admit to having a bias for the company. That said,.....
I took it to the range and was shocked at how easy it was to control. I used Wally World dicount ball ammo and at 15 yards had to try not to hit what I was aiming at. I am no marksman but after that afternoon I might be able to use my Taurus and play one on TV.
I also have nothing but good things to say about my dealings with Bud's. This is my third purchase from them and it will not be my last.
