Excellent rifle fit and finish are superb. Lightweight and the 33 degree lever throw is awesome. Light years beyond any Henry and worth every penny . This gun will last a couple of lifetimes and I will be passing it on one day.

Buds was great. never have had an issue with them. This is a really nice rifle but....a bit fancy for me, still just a fine rifle no regrets. I just worry about scratching it. so darn pretty

Just put 200 rounds through this little guy, ran flawlessly with both 22LR and 22 Shorts. The trigger is crisp and predictable. It is a little on the heavy side but still a very good factory trigger. The action is quick and likes to be run quickly. I did find trying to baby it didn't work, the lever really wants to run it hard. But that is the main appeal of this one over the Henry. The engraving on it is nicely done and the blueing is standard Browning (exceptional). The stock is high gloss with decent looking wood. Sights were dead on at 50y out of the box. First rifle in a long time I felt no need to adjust the sights on. Overall I'm very happy with it, it's well worth the premium over the Henry.
Pro's:
-Nice trigger

-Easy to load
-Good looking
-Sights perfectly calibrated out of the box at 50y
Con's:
-Trigger slightly on the heavy side
-Action is heavy and requires a fair bit of force to run smoothly
-Not dry fire safe

As I've come to expect from Browning the fit, finish, and overall quality of the BL 22 is excellent. The short throw lever action is very smooth and positive in use. While I haven't yet tried a lot of different brands of ammo to find which is most accurate in the BL 22 it seems like sub 1 inch groups will be the norm at 50 yds. Now to the one thing that I'm not happy with about the BL 22. The trigger ! While the trigger is crisp with virtually no creep a release pull of 5lb 12oz is too high for my taste. A call to Brownings' service department revealed that the factory setting is 5 1/2 to 6lbs so mine would be considered normal. While I understand that it will probably void the warranty I will be in touch with a trusted gunsmith to reduce the trigger pull. In spite of the heavy trigger I'm not sorry I purchased my BL 22.
As usual the service from Buds was first rate.

What a great little gun. I've had this plinker on my want list for years. I almost bought one on am auction site, but thought to check Bud's before I did. Ended up saving more than $60 by buying it here! As for the gun itself, it's another great Browning product. This one has an upgraded stock, and the short throw bolt is smooooth!

Really like the BL22 rifle. Beautiful grain on the wood and nice checkering. Blueing was great with nice polish. Nice smooth short throw lever action. Feed and extraction was great. Never a problem when firing the rifle. Arrived quickly and in good shape. Have wanted this rifle for years. Would buy another in a heart beat.

I can't see there being a better lever action 22. Beautiful gun. Functioned flawlessly. Smooth action. Accurate and fun to shoot. There i just described the best 22 available.

    Hi Rick and welcome. The Browning BL-22 Grade II features a trigger that breaks cleanly but is widely considered quite heavy for a .22 LR, typically pulling between 5.5 to 6.5 pounds. While the pull weight is stiff, the trigger is well-regarded for its crispness, lack of grit, and unique design. Because the trigger travels with the lever as you cycle the action, it completely eliminates the risk of finger pinch, making it highly comfortable for rapid shooting. Cheers, stay safe and enjoy!
