Works great, but becareful not to strip the threads when you install this, it is aluminum with steel screws, don't over torque!

After reading numerous positive online reviews of this side saddle I picked one up and I am glad that I did. Now I have a nice side saddle that holds an extra 6 shells for my Remington 870 tactical shotgun. It only took a few minutes to install and since my 870 has the smaller
forearm grip, I didn't need to do any cutting or modification to the grip like you have to do with the other 870's that have the longer forearm stock. If your Remington has the longer forearm stock, you either need to cut a portion of it down, or replace it with a shorter one (check the internet for the mod) or you can go with the shorter 4 shell Tac-Star version if you don't feel comfortable cutting it or replacing it. Some things I did though was place a small, thin pad to the underside of the side saddle to prevent it from scratching the finish on my 870. I also used a medium strength thread-locker on the ends of the 2 screws to prevent the side saddle from coming loose over time. From reading online, not too many people reporting the screws coming loose from range use, so this might have been an unnecessary step-depending on how often you shoot it-YMMV. Overall the shells stay in place yet slide out easy when you need them to for loading. it is a nice addition to any shotgun and I bought it from Bud's because they had the best price. Thanks again Bud's for yet another great deal.
