I read a lot of reviews online about this gun and decided that with a price just a little over $300. it was worth a try. Like most guns I've bought in the past from Turkey, it came covered in an oil/grease substance which of course has to be cleaned before being used. It appears to be a really sturdy gun, a little rough around the edges and mentally I am comparing this to my S&W M&P9 which to me is on a different level of refinement than the TP9. If you were to draw an analogy with rifles, the TP9 would be an AK47 and the M&P9 is an AR15. I've put about 200 rounds through the TP9 and have had no FTF's with the gun. The gun is built like a tank and probably would stand up to a Glock, which it has, in a competition. It is accurate enough for me at less than 10 yards though my marksmanship leaves a lot to be desired. If you are a first time firearm buyer, this might not be the gun for you but if you are a collector, preparing for a SHF scenario, or just want an extra gun to take to the range then this would be the gun. For me, I definitely wouldn't consider this as a conceal carry weapon but then there are people that walk around with 1911's in their waistband so anything is possible. It is a good value with all the accessories but it's not my first choice if I were to only own one gun.

I have new friends at Budsgunshop.com. I bought this worried a little because never bought on line before. Well I am pleased and have bought another gun there too. The Canik 55 tp9 is an excellent choice if you're a medium build or heavy built frame man. I am happy and am cleaning this thing and taking it to the gun range next week. I Thank you sirs, very much and feel I am going to buy as many guns as I can from this company. Very competitive prices too. It sort of feels like another competitor's gun for about $100 less. W--------'s are good but let's face it, They're over priced, and you don't get the same accessories that you get with this nice ISO company.

Nice Piece. Nice package deal. Easy to clean.
Even the FFL was impressed, even though he never heard on the manufacturer.
My favorite handgun.
Good construction and dependable.
Skip the clip on holster, not secure, use the one with the belt loops.
Love it.
Thanks Buds

The TP9 I received wouldn't eject Fiocchi 9mm ammo.Every shell would hangup with slide back.I had some Lawman TMJ wich is training ammo.I loaded 4 Fiocchi first then 13 Lawman.17 in mag and 1 in chamber is where they get 18 total.Gun ejected every Lawman perfect and hungup on all 4 Fiocchi. But and it stated in the Lawman add where I orded the ammo that it was training ammo and not accurate ammo.So the guy in the other review used Federal ammo with accurate results. So thats the ammo to use with this gun. This is an easey gun to break down and clean which is a big plus.I researched this gun on the internet.I watched many gun experts review and all were very good.Good price for all you get with it and the Mec-Gar magazines are rated best you can get. This is the 7th gun I've bought from Buds. All orders were done fast and weapons arrived in great shape and free shipping.

I finally took this thing to the range after receiving it two or so weeks ago. I put 250 rounds of Tula, Independance, and Federal ammo through it. It didn't have a single hiccup. I went through all 250 rounds as fast as I could load the magazines, and finished all of it within 45 minutes. I heated this up pretty good!
The ergonomics on this pistol are outstanding. after the first "getting-to-know-you" magazine, I started with semi-rapid-fire and double-taps.... At ten yards, on a silhouette target, double-taps were effortlessly kept within center-mass.......of the head!!!! This thing is the most accurate stock pistol I've purchased, period (have had XDMs, including a Comp version, Glocks, FNs, Taurus, Baby Eagle...that's all I can think of off the top)
It comes with a Serpa-style holster (w/ active trigger retention system) that is actually pretty impressive, except for not of my preference. I won't ever use that set-up.

If you have any hesitation because of the price, don't! You'll be glad you bought it. It's light, has a durable finish, seems to be assembled well (manufactured in a plant that adheres to ISO 9000 standards, which should translate to a high level of quality control), and is pretty damn accurate. I have no complaints, except for the sloppily-applied glow-paint in the sights. This gun is sweet- I wish they sold them in .40 calibers...
*I am impressed with Canik55, and will buy more of their pistols
