This gun is hard to find. It is a great product and offers the flexibility of a .410 and a .22LR plus it is easy to pack. Buds was easy to work with and shipped it to my local store.

Savage Model 42 is perfect for my intended use as a "truck gun" for the farm. The break down is very easy and allows for storage out of the way. The cross bolt safety is a plus as well. An added benefit of this firearm for me ( not realized) until it arrived was it's application for use by my grandchildren. As a NRA instructor, I bet it will be a perfect fireman for youth to learn both safe gun handling and marksman skills. I will improve the factory signs by replacing with a red dot ( for my old eyes).

Very pleased with the savage 42 compact takedown. This is my first gun and I was amazed at the power of the .410. I bought the gun for rattlesnakes but I feel like I could take down a bear. The gun breakdown very easy and I got a free gun lock and gun bag when I bought it new from buds. The shipping took a little while but I am sure they get a lot of orders daily and was able to overlook the time it took from Kentucky to san Diego.

Purchased this as an addition to my Standard Model 42 in 22mag/410 These are very nice little guns and the ability to break it down and stash it easily is great. Put a mini red dot and it shoots like a laser.. Accurate and fun for the family.. cannot go wrong at all..
