• Q: does this model come with a plug to go inside the mag tube? local hunting laws require a plug so the gun only holds 3 shells while hunting upland birds or migratory waterfowl.

• Q: Hello:
  I know Mossberg discontinued their left handed models a few years back. I'm interested in this model, because I'm new to hunting, and Mossberg is a great American made gun. Is it an issue that the shells shoot out to the right hand side if I'm shooting lefty? Long story short is that my question is based around safety related issues if I'm shooting left handed, and the shells discharge from the right. I don't want to get hit in the face with shells.

  Hi Stephen and welcome. No issue with shell ejection. It ejects to the right and slightly forward. No issue if your face is properly on the cheek rest. Cheers and stay safe!

• Q: Is this a "flex" model? I am confused whether all new 500's include the "flex" technology or is a there a regular 500 and flex model 500 seperatly.

  This is not a Flex model. You are correct with the latter, there are regular 500 and flex model 500 separately. The flex model number is 50121. I hope this helps.

• Q: Why are all the firearm prices exploding??? I don't see much in stock either. Is that why??? Can we expect stock to start being replenished anytime soon??

  Doyle, You are correct. Prices are going to keep going up. All manufacturers have back orders to the point it may not be back to normal for quite a while. If you see something in stock you want buy it now. It will not get less expensive in the foreseeable future.

• Q: Are all the Mossberg 500 barrels interchangeable??? I have an older 500A with a short defense barrel on it which is what I like. Will it fit this shotgun??

  Doyle, NO. The 500A made in 1960 with the aluminium trigger guard does have a heavier barrel then the modern Mossberg 500s. The original Mossberg 500 and the 500A use different barrels. If you have a 500A, you can not use a 500 barrel on it, or it's barrel on a 500.

  Chris, this model has a 5 Round Magazine Tube Capacity (2-3/4" Shells) and will hols 6 rds with a shell in the chamber and tube magazine topped off.
