The E2 series features one piece holster body construction, and like all Fobus holsters, the E2, is lightweight and includes steel reinforced rivet attachment and a protective sight channel. The paddle also includes a rubberized insert to provide both comfort and stability. A tension adjustment screw is incorporated to allow the user to customize the ease of presentation and the security of retention, functioning with the proven Fobus passive retention design.

I purchased this holster which was described as one for a 1911 style with rails. It required a bit of modification for my Girsan MC1911C 10mm. I replaced the tension machine screw with a 7/32" stainless steel one 3/4" long. I put a washer on each side of the rubber o-ring. The tunnel for the front sight was tapered slightly to prevent the pistol from hanging up while drawing. All areas showing wear marks were smoothed with fine grit sand paper. I'm sure some 1911's with rails would not require any mods but the Girsan is built fairly heavy duty to support the 10mm. The Fobus holsters are great. I have several for various semi autos, none of which needed any modifications to function perfectly. Buds as usual was great to deal with.
