I've had this gun for some time now and am extremely pleased with it. I'm a firearms instructor and this is my primary off-duty gun. The gun feels great in the hand, the trigger is crisp, and the sights are pretty good. The small frame is very good for concealed carry, especially for a .45 acp. I've never had a FTF or FTE in hundreds of rounds of various ammo fired.

Purchased the PT145CA from Buds (note: if the model # ends in CA it is a double-action only, check the model # before ordering!). First, Buds, excellent service and pricing. Unit shipped same day, picked it up on the 3rd day. Taurus: PT145CA, DAO. Trigger reads at 10-11lbs on my scale, feels lighter than that. Mine had conventional 3-dot sights, not the Heinie "Straight Eight"" sights claimed in the description (could have been an older unit). Minimal firing to date (had _ 1 week), as delivered it needs some breaking in--slide stop is tough to disengage, and slide stop does not release when slide is pulled to rear if the stop was engaged by an empty magazine (thought there was something wrong, but it disengages fine if manually engaged, just a tight magazine spring). One other item of note: tight chamber on this gun; it fed and fired 230gr RN or HPs without issue, but could not chamber a 230gr TCFP that works great in my 1911s. Needs about 4.5 stars, 5 for the service.

This is a great handgun. Period. It is very simple to handle, carry, load, shoot, and take apart. This is my second handgun (.38 Special also a Taurus) and my first choice for my concealed carry weapon in Ohio. This gun is great and you cant beat the price.

Overall, very satisfied with the Taurus. When you order this gun, be aware that the gun you receive will not be exactly as pictured. The picture shows a Millenium "Pro" but what you will get is a Millenium PT-145. Basically same gun it seems, but the one you get has the nice rail for a laser, etc. - I was glad to get the different gun ! Shot it first time and I was surprised at how accurate it was ! My friends who are into high end guns busted me for getting a Taurus - but for the money, you can't go wrong. Only negative I find is that it is tough to break down - have to force everything to come apart and go back together - maybe it will loosen up with age.

I'm sure there are many guns out there that are better, but for the money, I really dont think this gun can be beat! boy this PT145 sure is accurate! Very good feel too, like an extension of your hand
