Love this gun. Have owned it for 10 years and still works great. I purchased a 40Cal, but also run a Storm Mountain 9mm barrel in it most of the time.

After a bunch of research and friend recommendation, I chose the XDM for my first handgun. This gun is absolutely beautiful. I love the green/stainless steel combo and no one can come close to Buds prices. Not only is it aesthetically pleasing, it feels great in my hand. Definitely worth the extra time to save a bunch of cash. Shipping was right on time...I will definitely use Buds for future purchases. Cannot wait to get to the range tomorrow.

Not only does it look absolutely amazing and have a great feel, it functions perfectly. Have probably put about 1000rds through it by now of both cheap crap, regular range rounds, some reloads and some +P, and have not had one FTF or FTE. Did I mention it looks awesome.

This is the best pistol handling and shooting pistol that I have ever owned. I debated back and fourth for a while whether to purchase the XD, XDM, or the Glock 22 all in.40 S&W. Luckily I have several friends/neighbors that are FFL's or Police Officers and was able to hold and fire all three before I purchased my gun. Even my police friends say they wish the could carry the XDM as their duty weapon over their standard issue Glocks. Not that the Glocks are bad guns, but the XDM looks, feels and shoots in a class above. The XD and XDM are very comparable in performance and quality but I I could see an improvement in my accuracy and handling with the XDM over the regular XD. Hope this review helps anyone that is thinking of purchasing a new handgun for personal defense or just for shooting. Bud's customer service was good but shipping took longer than I have experienced with previous purchases from Buds, but I blame the shipping company for that. Buds had it out the door in two days.

While this XDM 40 is the first hand I have purchased it is not the first that I have handled. I did about a years worth back and forth on purchasing it or the Glock 22. I am extreemly pleased with my decision. My wife who is fearful of guns (Hence the year long process) held the gun and was impressed and after a few minutes of showing her the features of the gun and proper handeling. She was loading and handleing it like a seasoned gun owner. She was no longer fearful but felt impowered. She is pleased with the weight and size and the ability to personalize the wepon by changing the back strap and adding a light/lazer sight to the front. Overall my experience with Buds has been a very positive one. I will definately recommend Buds to all of my friends that have and are looking to purchase their guns. Thanks Buds.

I was able to hold the black version of this pistol in my local shop and really liked the balance, the feel in my hand, and the smoothness of the action. When I saw the OD/SS version at Bud's for the best price ever, I ordered it immediately. When it arrived, and I was able to really get a good look at it, I was even more impressed. This is the easiest to field strip auto pistol I've ever seen--you don't have to remove the take-down pin or pull the trigger to remove the slide. Inside, the finish is superb--not a tool mark to be seen and the surface is as just as smooth as the beautiful satin stainless exterior of the slide. The fit and finish of the parts is exceptional and better than I've seen on more expensive guns. One design feature I particularly like is the action of the barrel cam against the take-down pin just before the closing slide goes into battery. The cam action against the take-down pin causes the barrel to lock tightly against the frame so that there is absolutely no play at all. This has to be part of the reason this is such an accurate pistol. I particularly like the look of the dark olive frame with the matte stainless slide, but I suspect that all the variants of this model will have the same quality, so if you can't wait for the OD/SS version, get one of the available models and I'm sure you will agree that Springfield has given us a sensational value in the XDM series.
