Once you start shooting with it mounted on any caliber pistol greater than a .380 the internals get all crazy and will not stay on or will turn on without you wanting it to, and/or will not turn off. In this aspect, this light could give away your position and get you killed. Please do not buy this if you expect to use the weapon it is mounted to for self defence. The mount is of poor quality; if you remove the light and mount it to another firearm, the threads on the mount will loosen and strip, I have gone through two already. I have not been able to get rid of this light. I thought I was getting a better quality light then a streamlight, I was wrong. Get a stream light, the laser on this went dim after 100 rounds of .40s&w thru a glock 23.
