Arrived right on schedule, typical of Bud's reputation. This revolver is a useful concealed carry tool. Light, reasonably accurate, nice single action trigger and short throw double action of decent weight with minimal stacking. The timing was spot on and the lock up was very tight. It holds tight groups within defensive ranges and shoots point of aim with moderately loaded 148 grain full wadcutters It carries well (pocket or IWB) in a Sticky MD-5 holster. This is no beauty queen, the finish is utilitarian Then again, it is gonna be carried a lot, under varying conditions and the stainless with the mat aluminum frame should do well under such use.

I have owned quite a few revolvers in my lifetime from S&W, Colt and Dan Wesson to name a few, all of which are very good to outstanding. But, dollar for dollar there is no way you can beat the value of this gun. 25 Years ago you could buy a S&W 5 shot revolver for under $400, but today you would be fortunate to find a used one at that price. There is nothing I could say negatively about the quality and performance of this firearm in regards to its' function as a conceal carry defensive weapon.

I bought a different 2" revolver and it was a little heavy, my sons happy, when I gave that one to him, call it christmas. Then I bought this charter arms 12oz. 38 special +p, I love this little revolver. operates perfectly, accurate at short range. That's is its purpose

Very light!!! Very concealable!!! Amazingly great in the hand. The original grips are great but I got the smaller conceal grip and that works great too. It really does lock up fast and solid like the promotions say. It works in your pocket without snagging and you still get single action. The mechanism works really nice and has a great feel. And accuracy??? WOW. I was shooting 2" groups at 75 feet with lots of bullet in bullet holes smack in the center. There is no difference in recoil from any 38 or 357 shooting 38s that I've used. That was a real and pleasant surprise considering the weight. And all that and it's made in America, and in New England even. I'm amazed at how light and strong it works. It has more than satisfied all my reservations and expectations. I will purchase another one of these for the wife. She has a Taurus UL 38 and a Taurus M380 revolver. The Charter weighs less than both of the UL Tauruses. This is clearly our favorite!!!! We highly recommend and shall purchase another!!!

    Hi Dakota, it can handle +P but Charter Arms does not recommend it.
    From Charter Arms FAQ page - "Can I shoot +P in my .38 revolver?
    Charter .38's are among the smallest revolvers in this caliber. Yes they can handle +P but we do not recommend it for the following reasons:
    +P ammo requires a four-inch minimum barrel to burn the extra powder. Therefore, in a two-inch barrel the extra powder is burned after the bullet leaves the barrel creating more recoil and making it harder to come back to target.
    We recommend a standard velocity load and practice with round nose lead rounds which are the least expensive. When you load for protection, use a jacketed or hollow point in the same grain you practice with."
