I’m not seeing the Glock 23 Gen 5 anywhere in search results. Is it available in Gen 5 or only Gen 4 through Buds? Also is this double first shot single action thereafter?

Adam, no Gen 5 Glock 23's. There is a question whether the Gen 5 frame can support higher pressure rounds. It only uses a two pin frame, as opposed to the Gen 4's three pin frame.

Adam, No Gen 5 G23 out there. The trigger is a striker fired trigger. This is not a hammer fired DA/Sa. The double action they refer to is the trigger safety on the Glock. You depress the trigger safety fin in the trigger. Pull trigger to load striker. Then releases striker on the break of the trigger. About a 5 lb striker fired trigger on the Gen 4.

If I wanted to shoot 9mm out of this, would I only have to buy the conversion barrel? Or would I have to change the barrel and something else to avoid malfunctions?

Often times you will just need the conversion barrel and a magazine. In fact I have been successful doing just that. You could add the ejector but I would only do so if the previous set up is troublesome. Personally I would not carry any firearm for defense of life with a conversion barrel set up unless it's been proven to get through 250 (my arbitrary number) rounds of the self defense ammo of your choosing. Obviously opinions may vary.

Many of the Glocks will work fine with just the barrel swap. Others you may have to get a 9mm magazine and an ejector ($8 from Glock).

Brian, The plastic/polymer componets are made in Deutsh-Wagram Austria north of Vienna. Metal parts at Ferlach, Austria close by. Glock does assembly and test firing at the Deutsh-Wagram location along with a plant close just across the border in Braislve, Slovakia. The plant in Smyrna, GA that makes Glock USA uses same machining. The Deutsh-Wagram plastics plant was new in 1999

What can I say? It's a Glock. I've shot literally thousands of rounds through this specific model 13+1 G23 through the years and have not had not a single failure. Great firearm with multiple applications and buds provided yet another great experience!

The fine folks at Bud's Gun Shop are very helpful, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to work with. My Glock G23 arrived promptly and in good condition. I took it to the range and the accuracy was spot on. It is easy to break down and clean and works great with no issues. The Glock is lightweight, feels good and solid in my hand, and came with a variety of back straps to customize the "feel" to your individual preference. The case it came in holds the pistol and extra magazines securely between two heavy duty cushions and will probably last as long as my Glock does. Good, fast service, excellent quality and excellent price! Bud's is my go to place for anything relating to guns and ammo. Thanks Guys!

This is my first Glock and chose the model 23 because I like the 40 caliber. Shot a few rounds a couple days ago and very satisfied with my purchase from Bud's Gun Shop.

I was introduced to handguns with my grandfather's Colt 1911 .45, and that brand holds a special place in my heart. Next second favorite handgun brand is a tie: Glock and Sig. Glock is certainly reliable, as everyone knows. I shoot the .40 S&W as well as the 9MM, but the Gen 4 Glock is hard to beat, even by an all steel weapon. This brand I can enthusiastically recommend, and is usually less expensive than a Colt or a Sig. If you are looking to obtain an uber reliable handgun you can not go wrong with a Glock for a very reasonable price.
