Just Right Carbines Takedown Marine Carbine 9mm Semi-Auto Rifle - Stainless/Silver, 17" Barrel, 17+1 Rounds, Synthetic, Collapsible Stock

I bought this on something of a whim because I like the idea of an all metal, takedown pistol caliber carbine that can use my Glock magazines. I also have a Kel Tec sub 2000, which is similar in theory, but very different in design. First the good: I took this rifle to the range without so much as a cleaning and it not only ran through 250 rounds without any failure of any kind, but also did so using a fair number of cheap, Glock knockoff mags. I used a fixed 4X scope. At first it was drilling out the bull's-eye at 50 yards without any difficulty. Suddenly the rounds started drifting everywhere. I realized that the screw down forend which holds the barrel in place had come loose. As soon as I retightened it, it went back to drilling out the bull's-eye. This rifle is very accurate. I also found it relatively easy to break down and clean. All the parts are large and easy to access, but you do have to unscrew a number of parts. However, even without the manual it only took me about five minutes to break the whole thing down. Because it is a take down rifle, the whole thing will fit easily in a backpack. Now the bad: this gun is heavy. I guess that is the price you pay for very solidly made metal parts. If I had to look this thing around, it would be tiresome. Also, there appears to be no dedicated means of attaching a sling to the barrel end of the rifle. It also gets very hot with prolonged firing. In particular, the screw down forend/fore grip became very hot after about 200 rounds. On the whole I find this to be a very solid rifle with great versatility and, given its solid metal parts and nickel coating over every part inside and out, I suspect it will have excellent longevity.
