This is a very nice revolver, The muzzle break really tames down the recoil of the 44 magnum. It's extremely loud to shoot, make sure you have ear protection.
Very accurate at 50 yards, so far that's all I have to say about it. I don't regret buying it! With a little luck maybe I will get a deer with it before the season goes out.

Excellent accuracy and function as one would expect from a Smith and Wesson! 240 gr Hollowpoints have almost negligible recoil (for this type of load) due to the porting and weight of the sight. If you are patient and have good loads you can almost lay the shots on top of each other at 25 yds. The trigger single action is awesome. I do not anticipate using the double action while hunting, but it is very smooth too. I feel this is a substantially better gun (particularly for hunting) than my Ruger 44mag, but it certainly won't be applicable for Cowboy games like the Blackhawk. Excellent target or hunting firearm.

I was in the market for a premium 44 mag revolver. I was looking for a 2021 Anaconda but the Anaconda supply is almost nonexistent. Anyway, I found the Smith 629 Performance Center Hunter at Bud's. I decided to give this premium S&W a try. This 629 is amazing and there was zero price gouging! The trigger is smooth, non-stacking, and light. The 629's compensator is a plus in taming recoil. There is also a trigger stop on the rear of the trigger which is a nice plus. Smith Performance Center did an outstanding job making this 629. If anyone is looking for a "high end" 44 mag, I strongly suggest you get a S&W Performance Center.

I was finally able to have my new smith and Wesson 629 pc hunter sighted in with the optic it came with and I was more then pleased with the results on the accuracy. I absolutely love my new purchase and I would also highly recommend to try out the optic before you get a different one.

Once again another great deal from buds . This gun is incredible balance is good for a gun of this size it shoots so smooth even with hot loads . I was considering buy a Ruger Super Blackhawk hunter and a S&W 629 then I saw the performance center 629 Wow, cost a little more but well worth it haven’t tried the red dot yet .

Ordered from Bud’s transaction was smooth and fast as always. As for the pistol it was a phenomenal experience at the range today. The Performance Center really did a great job with this revolver. Fired 40 rounds through it today 240 grain JHP Jesse James and 240 grain Hornady XTPs. Recoil is extremely minimal thanks to the installed compensator. Accuracy was very lethal at ranges from 5 to 25 yards double action pull is heavy but shea butter smooth, and in single action it is light as a feather. Didn’t care much for the included optic, it will be mated to a 10/22 for a short time. The UTG optic has no business on a weapon of this class. It’s subpar at best. As for the revolver itself it is top shelf. If you have a hankering to get yourself a .44 Magnum that’ll be sure to turn heads this is the one.

The fit and finish were as I would expect from a performance center gun. I have currently put about 300 rounds through the gun and the performance has been excellent. I did not care much for the included scope. I am sure it would work fine but there are a lot better options out there. I own several other Smith and Wesson 44, 629's in the same barrel length and the muzzle brake does seem to help with taming recoil.

Awesome. Fit and finish are near perfect. This gun shoots more smoothly and with less muzzle flip than my 6" .357 magnum.

Just receive S&W 629 Hunter pistol. Great Looking gun. Good fit to hand. Will absolutely be one of my favorite pistols. Only thing that was wrong with it and the reason I couldn't give it a five star rating was the spur that lock cylinder had sharp edge to it causing it to scratch a ring around the cylinder. Gave it to my gunsmith , who happens to be my son, to smooth up and remove scratch from cylinder. Also the box had been open and gun taken out and not put back as shipped with paper wrapped around and in the side pocket of carrying case. As usual BUDS was great on shipping could not ask for better gun site, item was as describe, good pictures, BUDS also was less expensive than any where else I look. THANKS BUDS
