This is the new line of 22 caliber rimfire rifles from Marlin. Perfect for target practice and small game, these bolt-action 22s are reliable, accurate and fun to shoot. They come in several different models, with 4 or 7-shot clip magazines or 12-shot tube magazines; synthetic, hardwood or laminated stocks; ramp sights, hood sights or fiber-optic sights. Classic Marlin design for this bolt action rifle, wood stock, great trigger.

To me, this is the classic little plinker. The bolt action needs to be broken in but the quality of the overall product is great. The sights were spot on right out of the box and a small rimfire scope is a nice upgrade for longer shooting. 22s have little to none recoil so this is about the greatest gun to get started and build confidence. For me I just enjoy shooting this for fun. Eats all the ammo you shove into it.

I really wanted to like this rifle but the quality control coming out of Marlin recently is really hit and miss. Both the front and rear sights are extremely canted to the right. So much so, that I actually have to rotate the rifle clockwise in my arms to get a proper sight picture. I'm extremely disappointed and hopefully I will be able to sell the rifle so I can buy a different .22lr bolt action. I contacted Marlin for warranty work and they said based on my serial number, my rifle is not eligible for repair work, even though the rifle is supposed to have a 5 year warranty, and was purchased in 2018. I wish my rifle was made properly because I really like the overall design. If you purchase one, make sure you thoroughly inspect it for any defects. This was my first Marlin purchase, and will be the last.

First a word about Bud's Gun Shop; this was my first order with Bud's. No problem at all with online order, very fast shipping, excellent price, and received without problem by my FFL. As for the XT-22, a very fine rifle, which I believe is well made and looks and feels much more expensive than a "$200" rifle, Highly recommended.

Absolutely awesome got this for my kid for his birthday. His first gun and I couldn't possibly be happier with this purchase the wood looks awesome pictures don't do it justice finish was great throughout. Crown on the barrel is very nice. Trigger is excellent everything is very good quality very accurate no malfunction aside from us short stroking it a couple times and ejecting live rounds 100 percent our fault. The front sight is a little cheesy but it's literally the only plastic part on the entire gun and it definitely works. It would be nice if marlin makes an upgraded front sight in the future I'd order it in a second. Will be putting a scope on it in the future. Bottom line is that the price does not reflect the quality of this gun, it's far better than I could have expected. I will probably be buying another one for my youngest son when he gets older and maybe another for me

Amazing .22! I waited to write a review until I put round through it. I put 500 rounds through it to see which ammo works best and to see how it functions. Pros: extremely accurate with nearly all ammo, feeds flawlessly, disassembly is easy, cleaning in easy, trigger adjustment is easy, and its a pretty firearm. Cons: bolt is stiff to run at first (gets easy after broke in), front sight is kind hard to pick up, shooters head has to sit lower than usual (tall people), the rear sight ramp can be moved by a slight finger push and can result in accuracy loss. If you plan to use a scope with the gun, there will be hardly any issues. If you plan on open sights and are tall with aging eyes, I'd recommend buying aftermarket raised sights for it. I put a scope on mine and took it to 100 yards and all 7 shots were covered with a quarter! Mine happens to like cheap ammo so I couldn't be any happier! Nice plinker and hunting rifle. Plus it matches my 51 tear old marlin 980 DL!
