A nice rifle. Though I've owned Savage rifles in the past and not been very impressed with them, this one certainly has potential. The stock is of the typical budget-line plastic type, but I don't detect any twisting for flexing in the forend (buttstock is hollow). Barrel seems to be free-floated, which is nice for a varmint rifle. Though I haven't taken it to the range yet, I'm overall pleased with the rifle and recommend it.

Nice little gun. The rifle is very accurate right out of the box. The trigger is as good as the high price aftermarket units i use on my custom builds.

First purchase..good experience..
First... I love this gun.. actually love most guns but this is a special purchase. For 50 years I’ve Ben shooting my Rem. 700 BDL 22-250...
I wanted a friendlier and less noisy gun for casual shooting. I am very pleased with the 17 hornet.. just a delightful gun for low impact high velocity target or varmint.
I like the savage and I’m still trying to get my groups tightened up.. maybe you’re like me and you want a flat shooter that has no recoil and still sends a dart down range at ultra speeds. This could be your gun too!
Thanks to Bud’s. I was having an issue just finding a #25 for sale that was in inventory..
I liked the price for the quality..
If your like me you need to spend wisely.

Accu Trigger is simple to adjust. First two shots bullet holed, Zeroed Scope, last 5 shots covered by a dime. Savage has done their homework. Accuracy and Quality. I wanted a Nail Driving Varmint gun...and I sure got one. Crows and Ground Hogs, here on the farm, have started Class Action against Savage ! GREAT GUN...Great Price.

Love the gun and the caliber. Deadly accurate right out of the box. No issues at all. Mounted a 3x9 40mm Bushnell on it, got on paper at 50 yds and had it shooting sub-moa at a 100 yds a few rounds later. Have used it on crows. Emulsifies them. No recoil, you stay on scope and see the hit. Louder than my .22 Hornets, but not by much. Ground hogs will be on the agenda when spring comes. Should be enough energy left in the VMax bullet at 200-250 yds to kill them. Mag is plastic, but no feeding issues. At 6.9 lbs for the gun, add at scope and you are just over 8lbs. Not as light as some of my walking varminters. The barrel is not sporter weight, slightly heavier. But no where near as heavy as a full blow heavy barrel. All in all a no frills, well made gun that shoots straight.
