After debating between the Savage 10 TH XP and the Browning AB3, I made the decision to go with the Savage because of price and the fact that it came with a scope (not the best piece of glass, but i wasn't expecting Leupold quality). Let me just say, that I haven't shot this rifle yet, just picked it up form my FFL. When i arrived home, i was very excited to look over my new purchase and let me just say, i'm VERY impressed! This being my first Savage rifle, i really didn't expect it to look and feel this good. The wood quality, fit, and finish is, imho, just as good as higher priced rifles. Trigger feels amazing as well. Whats not noted in the product description is that the bolt is "jeweled". I didn't expect that but it was a nice surprise and looks great.
The only cons that i can find with the rifle are:
I feel that the but-pad could be more "robust" as its quite thin and not "spongy".
the bolt handle could be a tad bit longer imo.
the instruction manual is a bit hard to follow.
This is my second purchase from Buds and, again, am completely satisfied. Great prices, Extremely fast shipping, even from there distributor.

I've had this gun for several years now and have never had an issue with it. I guess I just forgot to write the review. The scope was on paper out of the box and it was pretty easy to get dialed in. It has stayed dialed in ever since. I've never had any issues with this gun functionally. It does what it is supposed to do. I do not regret this purchase.

First purchase with Bud's. Used a preferred FFL which made for an easy transaction. Shipped the next day after payment was received. Great mid-priced rifle ($471 plus $50 rebate). Nice wood stock, but not so nice that you won't want to use it. Plastic parts (trigger guard, bottom surround, mag baseplate) to be expected at this price-point. A bit disappointing but OK. Uses the same magazines as the Axis. Other than that, fit, finish, and quality are excellent . Legendary Savage action is smooth and feeds reliably. Great trigger! At least Savage did not cut corners on the important stuff! Shoots tight groups, more accurate than I am. The 3-position safety is smooth, positive, and easy to use. Nikon scope is pretty good. Clear glass and I like the BDC .The mounts are fine but the rings are cheap. Holding zero after 70 rounds but will replace the rings with better ones. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase. Highly recommend this rifle and Bud's!

Savage quality and accuracy. This is a good traditional hunting rifle and has already taken many deer. Bang and thump goes the game. No chasing or tracking it down. Deadly accurate.

This rifle was a second choice since the Remington I had placed on lay away had been recalled.After a bit of negotiation ( this rifle was more expensive than the Remington ) the rifle shipped two days later. Rifle and scope are as descibed and for the price appear to be decent buy. At the range six rounds to correct the scope and six rounds at 100 yds gave better than MOA. Am very satisfied. This is my fifth purchase from Buds and there will be more. Pleased all around with stock and service. Personal thanx to James.
